Hold your left hand back touching your right hand. It will increase your accuracy. I hunt with blowguns and that was a trick that doubled my accuracy. The left hand when you blow tends to pull to the left or right when extended out.

Excellent work, man! A friend of mine is what one might call a "traditional Cherokee", and he taught me that crazy technique for making thistle down blowdarts. It requires quite a bit of practice, and I haven't mastered it yet, but it certainly does result in an extremely good dart. 👍👍

I loved our blowgun growing up they were super accurate I was surprised the first time I used it

I used to make a lot of bamboo darts. Try seeing how small you can make the fluff at the end. The smaller that is, the faster, more accurate and more powerful the dart will be, until you get too small. I would actually wrap cotton around the end and wrap the whole thing with thread, with none of it loose. See what you think.

You can use them as blow guns as well, you've just gotta split them down the center to smooth out the "steps" between the sections and then use a natty glue and wrap it.

Awesome tutorial there. I wish we had bamboo here where I live. Question: Does the placement of the fibers affect the trajectory? It would seem that even amounts of fibers would create a more direct flight. Too much on one side would make it turn.

I think it is worth mentioning that you have to apply venom to the darts for this weapon to be effective. You can use it to hunt too but you have to use the right toxins so as to not poison yourself. Obviously I wouldn't know which ones are the right ones for each occasion.

Hey man this is what we do when making darts to strengthen them once you have a small enough split heat them up on the fire them actually twist the darts up so they spiral it makes them stronger and straighter. Worth a shot at least
