Another nice video Chris. Looks like a really fun rod. You have done many videos from this same creek. Someday I’ll get a hint as to its location!🤔🤷🏻♂️😁. Keep em coming! Neil

Thanks! Yes, it is a great testing ground for small rods for me. Lots of new areas coming up after my 7 day trip last week.

A beautiful rod on a beautiful stream. Yeah, I'm just a bit jealous.

Kris, nice debut of your Oni Itoshiro 340 with bamboo grip. 2:29 " It's stiffer than the Type III" . Your quote is very interesting yet a bit perplexing! At first glance the Oni Itoshiro CCS=10.5 (p) and RFI=3 values compare as lower values to the Oni Type III 334 CCS=12 (p) RFI=3.5. (controlling for differences in overall length 340 cm versus 334 cm). Seems counter intuitive that the Itoshiro could be the "stiffer" rod over the Oni Type III. Is the answer due to rod flex dynamic design differences? A critical point Tom Davis explains in his article about CCS/RFI ratings. Where he cautions a rods CCS and RFI values alone is insufficient to determine any given rods action, the angler must cast the rod to make final assessment of a rods action. I fathom a guess your quote bears this out. I had to ask. Thank you nice video.

I should clarify stiffer mid/lower sections. The CCS can be misleading as the rod has more backbone… tip flex vs full flex. Good catch Vic.
