For a discussion of green heat for a citizen's home. The greenest is locally supplied bio with the least processing possible. So for my location that means firewood. The only additional carbon footprint that comes from the use of firewood for heat is fuel for harvest, transportation, and processing. The next cleanest is probably nuclear or natural gas, however natural gas is not an option where I live. Electric is prohibitively expensive and it is not feasible for a home owner to have a nuclear power supply at home. Bio mass from bamboo is a great idea, but like you said, all calculations need to be considered as to how much energy is expended to produce bamboo pellets versus how much energy is comes out in heat. But let's not forget transportation calculations!

Not very politically correct from the geographical point of View.Distsnces AND type of bamboo employing tousand land acres for tousand tones of pellets to be delivered tousand miles .

@@jairoacero2008 The problem with politically correct, is they are seldom correct on any issue. The politically correct movement started with the removal of pronouns in government and business records. Now today personal pronouns are the rage with the WOKE community and once again they are incorrect on the issue. In both case all that is necessary is for all people to be respectful of each other. Let us look at the LGBTQ...community. They demand their right to live their lifestyle. A true Christian will say you can live your sinful life, but you don't have a right to abuse children for your sexual gratification. I as a poor example of a Christian am more than willing to let God be the judge of their sinful lifestyle. At the same time I will not silently sit by and knowingly allow child abuse to occur. It is illegal and immoral to sexualize any children, straight or gay. Now let us look at another politically correct issue. Why was the Summer of 2020 "A mostly peaceful protests," but the J6 protest was an Insurrection? Because the WOKE community lied in both cases. In #BLM and ANTIFA riots there were hundreds of people murdered. On J6 there was one woman murdered by a cop. All the other cops that died on J6, died from health issues, another lie that came out from the politically correct community shortly after J6. So, my point is simple, all of this Left leaning issues are based on lies. I have many more examples if you really want to get into it. The computer industry has a term "Garbage in, garbage out." Well by observation that also appears to apply to society.

Bamboo, seems like you could grind it up and add it to paint to make a roof coating . Wouldn’t it be a heat barrier?

I had the same idea to pelletise or just use the shreds of bamboo as biomassfuel. From miscanthus i know that there is rhe issue of the low melting point of the ash which will block your airholes in your ovenground. Maybe with bamboo there isnt this problem. Further the species of bamboo should be the key for economic success. Guadua bamboo has higher yields than moso wheras moso is more winterhardy. Hard to find the suited species to grow. You should try yourself and pelletise some bamboo. Greetings from Germany

Great video, thank you for sharing! How well do you think bamboo pellets would work for cat litter? I’m starting to get into using wood pellets for cat litter, but the only commercialized option I’ve found is pine, and I’d rather support bamboo initiatives. Pine pellets turn to sawdust when wet (with urine), but I can’t find any information on how liquids affect bamboo pellets. Can you provide any insights?

I know some farmers feed the leaves and prunings to their cattle, but pure bamboo pellets probably not so great, unless you're raising pandas. I'm not sure though, it might make a decent supplement to the usual diet of grains, albeit not super nutritious.

Depends what you're looking for. Ground cover, building material, privacy hedge, Japanese garden accent, etc...

if it was possible to cultivate a bamboo without high silica content imagine that. it wont dull the blades and so on of the tools that is used to process it. but probably not possible
