Very nice! I have the water cooled version of that engine

Thank you, I've been wanting a hit and miss engine for a while and I have not seen many like this before. Thanks for watching.

wow, very well done for adding that to your collection. Thats my last from the whish list. A hit and miss. Btw will you be at tractor fest in Newby?

Thank you, I'm very pleased with it. Unfortunately I won't be at tractor fest this year, but hopefully next year I will be able to bring a few engines. Are you going to be staying for the weekend?

@@MatthewHenson. Yes I will be at tractor fest with my friend also will rally his engine there with some others he have.

On the "miss" strokes.. does the engine actually draw in fuel/air to cool the cylinder down...even if the spark is not igniting the mixture?
@MatthewHenson.8 ай бұрын
Hello, on the miss stroke the exhaust valve is held open so air is only bought in through the exhaust. No fuel/ air is drawn in through the intake.
@JohnSmith-pl2bk8 ай бұрын
@@MatthewHenson. That explains that... otherwise the strokes that are unfired would still be using fuel.... not to produce any power...but just to cool the cylinder.. Since the exhaust valve is held open all the crap and heat in the exhaust gets drawn back into the cylinder.... not optimum... I suppose that when good carburettors were invented the need for the "miss" stroke went away.... better constant metering of the fuel for every intake stroke......
