For anyone confused about the halq limit, it's ro stop double halq combos. You can combo off with the first halq into dagda, but at the end of your board, you can end on a second halq to summon a wonder magician to pop scythe, and use TG wonder magician synchro eff to summon baron using halq and scythe

Verte and Halqi and consistency cards not power cards imo. While I understand DPE in most decks is a problem but the verte hot also makes mid tier decks way worse. I personally play blue eyes and now my consistency of being able to use blue eyes tyrant dragon is pretty shit now. A Halqi ban on top of it would make my deck not competitive at all because it would make it to where I wouldn't be able to summon barrone hardly at all. It was nice to finally get a decent blue eyes fusion but with verte gone it becomes useless and inconsistent unless you run 3 and bingo machine go. So while I understand the verte ban I personally don't like it. I would be fine with it if blue eyes abyss dragon could search it

Mind Control, a ''worse'' version of Change of Heart is also Limited, so why not put Mind Control to like 2 or 3, and when Mind Control is just not good enough, then get Change of Heart to 1? Change of Heart is a card more people recognize, and putting Mind Control at 3 is like putting Change of Heart at 2 with Mind Control staying at 1. It's always better to have both cards at 1 than one at 2 and the other banned, because at least you can use both cards then.

I think "Just makes Despia stronger" isn't going to last very long. The OCG said that a few months ago and thought Despia was the best deck of the format, but now we live in a world where Splight and (to an extent) Mysterune is fucking obliterating the meta, and Despia getting 4~5% of tops instead of something like 20%.

@@bluemethetys9267 Pranks we’re pretty budget friendly before the Adventure meta. Place was the most expensive card ($20 when it was high) then it got reprinted. That’s why they’re everywhere, and obviously Konami’s sick of em. Meow mu took it from rouge to T1, definitely needed to be limited. Without it tho the pranks are DOA no matter your variant. Even if you’re not trying to spend hella on meta pack doesn’t matter. Ban Verte is great because every deck abuses it, including prank kids. Ban Meow mu is Konami literally showing prank players the door because they’re sick of seeing them 😂

Verte ban was long overdue, now they can release all the deck fusion cards they want without worry. Halqi limit was copium. Change of Heart is going to be another Sacy 1 of, I'm still worried about yata/time seal potentially being used to stun draws. Trish loops I feel will be super duper inconsistent, you need 3 monsters per Trish to make him and with all the disruption in the game you probably don't make it that far. EDIT: Got given a lot more context regarding the cards, ignore this.

What main plays? You either ash or veiler/aluber if you do not ash branded fusion. You can go for Verte if aluber is negated when normal summoned, but you cannot Verte after using branded fusion or successfully resolving opening. Brave variants made Verte, but that's it. The only way I could see someone making that in pure is if you link off the fusions made by poly, and why would you do that?

My point is they have several extenders that can put an extra body on the board to at least get their fusions going through handtraps, making Verte, if not mandatory, at least a very strong option that increases resilience.

I like what konami is doing, trish to 3 is fine cause even with the jet synchron back, the limiting of riser, halQ and the ban to token machine it will become hard to use. At best someone can pull two of them, but it won't make you progress too much investing so many resources into him turn one and halQ riser turn 2. This is one of the better takes that I've seen so far. Even a deck as strong as full-power Despia probably won't be enough to keep Splight from taking over so why not have a format like this where Despia can have enough time to become optimized first? That way, the best Despia deck possible will at least have a chance of still seeing decent play once Splight hits. My expectations are low but this seems like a reasonable strategy.

This is a game where going first is ultra-broken nearly all of the time. Mind Control sometimes sees play, to steal an Apollousa and whatnot, and CoH will see play in this way also (especially rn, to steal Mirrorjades), but this is hardly broken in the grand scheme of things. Making going second viable should be a goal for Konami and it's unlikely they're going to ban CoH again when Mind Control has been fine at 3 in the OCG.

I really hope the verte ban is as impactful as people think it will be, despia doesn't reeaally need it but scythelock is harder now COPIUM. Halq and jet synchron being around in the same format is probably a recipe for disaster with swordsoul seeing as they're the top contender atm. Good banlist overall i give it a DM staple/10.

I’m glad the stupid 10 synchro summons in a turn Auroradon combos are now dead. Made more sense to ban Halqifibrax though. In the end they probably both needed to go for the sake of future proofing tuners in general. Halq’s days are numbered :copium:

Technically Anaconda is a hit to despia, because they ABSOLUTELY love summoning dpe or getting access to branded fusion if their hand is a bit clunky, most deck technically wants dpe on the field with anaconda, but I guess despia is the most "dependant" to anaconda

You either don't play Despia or never follow recent meta. No one play Verte in pure Despia (arguably the best variant). It conflicts with both Branded Fusion and Opening. Only the Brave variant plays Verte, even then it is still not that game changing. Soooo, nope

Trishula at 3 is actually going to be really strong with hand looping, I use it at 1 copy in my Ice Barrier/Sword Soul deck and I for one am going to be abusing this and it will save me from having to return it to the extra deck to rip more cards out of my opponents hand...

it will probably have slightly less impact since there's already triple tactical talent which is essentially a better change of heart. Also, snatch steal being a equip spell is searchable, but change of heart is effectively a hard-draw. And now that meta decks set-up so many negates it's quite hard for change of heart to make a difference. The only real application is if you dark ruler and then change of heart something, which in that case might as well dark ruler into another extender.

So, what I'm always wondering when they make Archetye Support generic, and it turns out to be op....why don't they just errate the damn card to force it into it's own archetype? Like having Halq summon a Crystron Tuner instead of a Generic one, and/or requiring a Crystron tuner to be made in the first place.

1) They consider erratas (especially on modernly released cards) bad practice. 2) It's purposeful. They made Halq generic with purpose, and are keeping it legal also with purpose. For instance, the recently released Zombie cards would be nowhere near as cool if Halq weren't in the game.
