Thanks for sharing, saw a lady used your recipe to make these gorgeous Huat Kueh. But I will add the Baking powder and Baking soda to the flours and sift all together into the batter. You added in Baking Soda, that's why it rises so well. I will try it when I have Banana.

Nice. I have tried your palm sugar and pumpkin huat kuih. It turns out really beautiful and tasty. May I know what's the reason for adding cooking oil?

The huat kuih will be moister, won't become dry.

May I know what the cup looks like? Seems like very difficult to get this kind of cup size, I only can find egg tart cup online. Pls advise, thanks

I made but failed. My cake don't huat as much as yours. Is it because l added the baking powder and soda with the four? I made smaller ones like muffin size? 😭

Hi can change brown sugar to palm sugar (Gula melaka)

I just tried this recipe but why the huat kuih is not rise well and soft?

If your batter is much thicker, you may add in more milk as the water absorption capacity for different brand of flour is different. Make sure you get the water in the steamer ready (rolling boil) as you need to steam the huat kuih immediately when mixed. You need to add both baking powder and baking soda.

You may replace with plain flour but the blooming will be less.
