One thing that many people don't know. The ostrich effect. The longer away from the corner you are when peeking. The less visible you are. The 2 most important things in a fight in cs is always to put yourslf in an advantage and you opponent in a disadvantage.
@henrym5908
@henrym5908 4 жыл бұрын
I commented the same thing, the concept is called Perspective. probably the most common movement mistake made, even at high level and in pro play.
@shoemakerjones
@shoemakerjones 4 жыл бұрын
Good point, but do remember the element of surprise when peeking wide from a tight angel. In some cases swinging wide and fast, might net you some kills because the opponent isn't paying much attention. Don't overdo it though.
@vinegarlegate24
@vinegarlegate24 4 жыл бұрын
This is true, but it is more important to peek from close, as you will be moving much faster and harder to hit from the enemy's perspective. If you watch a pro match, you will see that every player pushes close to the wall and swings wide when they peek.
@nousquest
@nousquest 4 жыл бұрын
That just conceptually doesn't make sense to me. If you peek close to the angle, the enemy will be larger (thus easier to hit) on your screen, and on the enemy's screen you will be larger (thus easier to hit) If you peek far from the angle, the enemy will be smaller (thus harder to hit) on your screen, and on the enemy's screen you will be smaller (thus harder to hit) They seem to cancel out for me.

@@vinegarlegate24 being close to the corner looks fast to you, not the enemy, because you are close to the thing you are peeking from. the key is to be at running speed when you clear the corner. Warowl did a video on this

Funny this video was recommended to me. Looking at the comments I remember I was once learning these things, I was a noob at cs. 3000 hours later I'm A on esea and 10 faceit. Exactly what I needed to read, tysm. I just started playing csgo regularly (around 30-40 hours right now), I come from CoD, usually have around a 3kd and a 5kd in warzone. Completely different games. In cs im really struggling winning 1v1s and knowing how to use utility, guess I still don’t understand when and why to use them, I need to look at it differently. Obviously I won’t know everything in a week! Anyway, in death match I can frag all game, but when I go into casual or ranked I just can’t do anything. Atm I’m only good with the awp and m4a1-s, I can hit shots with the awp all day. Everything else I def need work on. Your comment definitely gave me hope. I don’t expect to be pro level or anything, I just want to be decent while having fun!

I believe you need audio too, lets say youre peeking, knowing where your enemy is through sound can be very useful to quickly find and kill them. The only issue is again, you need to know where the sound is coming from, which means you probably need some practice with maps to know what platform the enemy is on.

Can you make a new video on holding angles as a CT? I often find that I can easily win aim duels while peeking about 80% of the time, but when holding an angle with an M4 this drops down to about a 40%. I frequently either get a dink in and then get headshot, or I don’t even get a chance to shoot because I’m wide swung. I’m usually even holding an off angle as well. I know it’s easier to get kills by just hiding and peeking at the right time on CT, but that sacrifices my teammates a lot of the time and I want to win some aim duels. I’m hovering between B+ & A right now on ESEA in case you were wondering about my level of skill. If someone could help me or if Maxim could make a video, that’d be great! I just really want to be able to win a fight when I’m just holding an angle with an M4 against a T.

constantly change your position, keeping your crosshair at 1 position make it bad for your reflex because of the lack of movement
@Yveldi
@Yveldi 4 жыл бұрын
I am late by two months, but whatever... If the enemies can dink you, especially without utility, I am almost certain that something is wrong with your positioning. Specifically, you are holding a hard-to-react angle from a predictable spot. Hold from a spot where the enemies are less likely to prefire, and place your crosshair at a reactable pixel. You can also just peek an angle every 3 seconds instead of waiting for info, which will make it impossible for the enemies to prefire you until they see you. BONUS TIP: Sometimes, the problem is the bombsite that you are playing. Not many people are talking about this, but I've realized that different bombsites require very different playstyles. For example, you can hold most maps' B-site with just good aim on lower ranks whereas it's impossible on A... And the opposite is true for higher ranks: The B players will have to rely more on their default strats whereas the A players will more frequently have to react to the enemy and quickly come up with a counter individual strategy.
@1dylancs
@1dylancs 4 жыл бұрын
Yveldi Thanks for the tips, but I’ve already switched over to VALORANT actually. I actually switched up my bomb-sites which helped a lot. I’m generally just a much better player when I’m taking peeks off of my utility instead of just holding an angle dry, so I switched over to sites like A-site Dust II and B site overpass which helped tremendously. Either way it’s not gonna matte because I don’t really play CS anymore, but I definitely would recommend switching up sites to fit your playstyle to other players who are facing my problem.

@@hminh8166 for rifles its still the meta, however for the awp after the crouch update i would recommend to never peek an angle again and just go for holds, otherwise if u do want to peek, peek while standing.
