Roald Dahl wrote the books The Witches, Matilda, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, Fantastic Mr. Fox and several others. He also wrote adult macabre short stories, some of which were adapted for Alfred Hitchcock Presents. He wrote the screenplay for the James Bond film You Only Live Twice and the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, both adaptations of Ian Fleming novels. He also adapted several of his own novels and short stories for film and TV. He worked as a television screenwriter as well including a show he hosted on CBS called Way Out, which was a horror and sci-fi anthology that preceded the Twilight Zone. More interestingly, during WWII, he was a flying ace for the British Royal Air Force. After he crashed in the dessert when flying a mission in Egypt, he suffered a fractured skull and temporary blindness. After he recovered he went to work for British Intelligence and became a spy. He was friends with Ian Fleming during that time (also an actual spy, who based his James Bond books on his own experience. ) There is more to his story, including some controversy, of course. I never knew how interesting he was when I was reading those books as a kid. I didn’t even realize the same person wrote them.

LIBRARIAN HERE! We absolutely still use the dewey decimal system 😂 It's how you categorize/organize non-fiction We still issue library cards though QR codes exist and I often encourage patrons to take a picture of their card to have it on their phone. We still scan books, however many libraries now have RFID scanners which is SO much faster because you can scan a whole stack of books in an instant. Hope this helps 🎉

Yes and anyone who has a library card anywhere in the United States, you can use it to read every digital book you can imagine, even audio books at no cost ever on Cloud Library. It’s available pretty much anywhere on all devices. My kid got into reading books using his library card on Cloud Library during COVID

I use the mini card I keep on my car keys!! Incredibly useful! I would literally never use it if I had to use my phone because the digital fatigue is SO REAL

Little clarification on the first 'book,' bunny. The Little Sister books were a spinoff series from the baby-sitters club centering on Karen, the younger sister of leader Kristi (i believe, as it's obviously been several years since i touched either series.)

As a librarian, library cards do still exist but there are apps you can put your card on. And yes Dewey decimal system is still a thing 😆

They don't include a magnifying glass in every ball, and you can only read the cover page and the next page or two that's it. The mad libs you can read all of it which is awesome. The burn book is meant to be like that, it's from a series I think. I do hope they make shelves or something in the next series.

I've been so excited to buy these since I saw the ad! I think for any repeats I get I'm gonna "recover" them as books I've read on Kindle Unlimited as little shelf trophies so I don't buy the full sized book😅

I actually love that these seem to be made to scale, even if that makes them near imlossible to read. The other mini books you got are beautiful, but there's something about a mini that looks just like the regular version was hit with a shrink ray that makes my brain happy😅

Other things they could add, dust sleeves, tote bags, book ends, reading lights, the book sleeves that you can put the entire book in to protect it while it’s in your bag.

I just opened a ball. Seeing what's in them is the best part for me. I got three books (1 hardcover with mostly blank pages), a bookshelf, magnifying glass, and bookmark. I'll put the entire set into one of those free library boxes at the park. If they had the Harry Potter series, or LOTR, I'd keep them, but I'll pass these along.

I’m a library lover. My library gives cards and uses Dewey decibel, but they scan your card at mine. And now we have auto scanners where a patron can scan the set of books we check out.

i used to go to the library all the time in the 90s (in quebec) and i dont remember the dewey decimal system 🤭so i just checked and i went down a rabbit hole ! its super interesting ! like 600 is technology science, 610 is medical science 611 human anatomy 611.3 digestive sys. organs etc... (class, division, section, subsection etc..) Its facinating ! 😅 thanks bunny ❤

As kid my favorite was mystery in the cupboard. Cause that had the origin of the magic cupboard.
