Looking forward to the next instalment of the bpi-p2 to see how you get on installing an O.S. to the onboard memory . This is an appealing attribute!

Hello, for anyone searching on how to solder it, you solder 4 pins (which stands together), and the other two pins are VCC (closest to the edge) and GND, so you straighten them out and connect with wires to GPIO pins 2 and 6, VCC to 2 and GND to 6.

Thanks for review. Is it possible to make analog video output from bananaPi?
@WiFiSheep Жыл бұрын
Hi, some BananaPi products do support composite PAL or NTSC video out. The B-Pi Zeros dont as far as im aware, however you can use a low cost 3rd party adaptor to convert the HDMI out to SD composite video if required, and that should work fine.

Hello. I'm trying to install the operating system on my Banana Pi M2 Zero but I can't. I downloaded the indicated system, I flashed the SD card but when I turn it on, I don't see any video on my monitor. What could I be doing wrong? My banana pi is a BPI-M2 Zero (it is marked like this on the box) but on the chip I can see the inscription H3, on the box it has the option BPI-M2+ (H3) but this is not the model that is marked. My power supply is a 5V - 3A for Rasperry. Thanks.

Hi, i would suggest trying the Armbian build for the Zero M2 and see if that works. www.armbian.com/banana-pi-m2-plus/ for M2+ (H3) Obviously make sure you are flashing the SD card images and not just copy and pasting files as this wont work. And make sure your display is setup correctly, set to HDMI or DVI mode on the correct input port and is connected and powered on before powering up the Pi. It might be the Raspbian build is not complied for all CPU types These should be the support OS files wiki.banana-pi.org/Banana_Pi_BPI-M2_ZERO#Linux Try the Ubuntu and see if that works any better. Failing this try the forums for help forum.banana-pi.org/c/Banana-pi-BPI-M2

Have you managed to enable hardware decoding and rendering in browsers? What about media centers like LibreELEC?
@WiFiSheep2 жыл бұрын
Not as yet but thank you for reminding me about that. At present im not aware of any media centre support as such.

It's confusing that they call this a Zero when only the Banana Pi M2 Zero has a RPi Zero form factor. Then again M2 sounds like it has an M.2 connector. Unfortunately they also have the same higher prices as RPi Zeros. These look to have the same CSI camera connector as the RPi Zero, does anyone know if they are hardware + software compatible?

I don't have monitor so i can't login into bpi-p2z in the first run. How can I run bpi-p2z without monitor?
@WiFiSheep Жыл бұрын
Normally this is done via SSH and a ethernet network cable, putting your Bpi on your local home network then use another machine to SSH in, some basic details for the Armbian OS are here if you follow the links forum.banana-pi.org/t/enable-ssh-without-monitor/14813

Definitely an interesting SBC. Looks like it is a competitor to the Raspberry Pi 3 A+. I look forward to your next video on this SBC!
@WiFiSheep2 жыл бұрын
Your comparison to the 3A+ is actually quite good (wish I had though of that!) In nearly always this board is actually a little better apart from RAM at only 512MB compared to the 1GB of a 3A+
@-someone-.2 жыл бұрын
@@WiFiSheep I had to double check my 3A+, coz I was sure it only has 512mb ram 512MB LPDDR2 SDRAM Yep, 3A+ has only 512mb ram 3B+ has 1gb 👍 Great vid though👍

Wait wait... Is this running raspbian OS ?? for the raspberry Pi or this is a different linux OS with raspbian looks ??
@WiFiSheep Жыл бұрын
Yes it is running raspbian as in the official raspberry pi os, raspbian was ported to a number of alternative platforms, although this build is outside the official build , so is not supported by RPi

Should probably just point out again, as i did in the videos that the Banana Pi cant run strait Raspberry Pi boot images, as all SD images need to be complied for the All Winner ARM chipset not the Broadcomm set used by the Raspberry Pi. Hence Banana Pi offer pre-complied images for use with their SBC products. Hence some complied software such as the Pi build of Minecraft will install on the BananaPi version of Raspbian but cant actually run, due to being a closed source port only for the Rpi chipset and not All Winner. However as most software and tools are open source, most seem to work.
