Yeah, Kanami is shredding but she's not just shredding. She is shredding with the emotion buried deep in the song and scooping out that emotion. That's what makes her one of the greatest guitar players in hard rock history.

Alone is a special song for BAND-MAID. The song was provided by the composer when they were formed. They wanted their original song, and Kanami composed it many times. However, it continued to be rejected by the production company. Alone is their first song to be released as a work, and from now on, they will write and compose almost all songs, and it will continue now. Alone is a commemorative song that has achieved one of their goals.

Alone has one of Mincho's best solos, just so good! Thrill is the song that saved the band, so very significant to Band Maid! Miku writes the lyrics, and Kanami is the main song writer and composer, getting input from Misa and Akane for their parts, then Saiki is QC. A true collaborative effort from these amazing ladies!

At this point, KANAMI had composed and arranged all the parts. AKANE said she was practicing until late at night the day before the recording because she couldn't play the drum part well, and early in the morning on the day of the recording of "ALONE". They said even now, in the recording, KANAMI plays the MIKU's part using MIKU's tools. So MIKU has to practice hard before the LIVE. As for the base part, probably from the "CONQUEROR", KANAMI says she left all to MISA because MISA has a high musical literacy for KANAMI's composing. It seems that MISA and AKANE are responsible for the drum and bass duet parts for live performance arrange.

I had heard Thrill first and it caught my interest but Alone was the song that made me a fan. Seeing them perform for two hours at the Echoplex in LA September 30, 2019 made me a Maidiac. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

Akane wearing her little hat = older Band-Maid video 😊. Another older and great song of theirs is Real Existence. It's more of an up tempo crunchy rock song 🤘😊🤘
Wonderful reaction vid. Thrill was not written by the band, but I believe it was their first MV. It's an important song for the band as the song fortunately went viral overseas and enabled the band to continue on. Alone was the first song written by the band that their label allowed them to release. After Alone, the band focused on their own compositions. They went on to release 4 albums starting in 2017 (the first album featured a couple songs written by outside songwriters because, according to Kanami (who writes the music), they could not create songs fast enough to fill their first release). Perhaps the earliest Kanami composition that became a Band-Maid song is Yolo - as it was written by Kanami prior to the band's formation. It was released shortly after Alone, and would be my recommendation to react to if you're interested in how the band's sound developed. So much of what makes this band special is already there imo - in Yolo. (The MV for Yolo is posted on the band's YT channel.)

During their online okyu-ji last december the band played a slowed down version with a cool misa intro, if you can get hold of it, it's worthwhile, best live version by far 🤘🤘. Saying that maybe it's not as good as akanes comiccon version, that is stuff made of legend.

Brilliant reaction as ever. Hadn't listened to this song for...well, too long, frankly...so good to get a reminder of their early brilliance and now I have Saiki's catchy "Oh-oh" stuck in my head (the only cure being another Band-Maid song). I'm not a musician so I always appreciate comments from musicians about various instruments being played as it just deepens my understanding, appreciation and love of this band. Miku has learned all her guitar from Kanami (and lots of practice) and Kanami's compositions have, over the years, kept stretching Miku's skills further and further, to the extent where Miku put out her own song (as an April Fool's joke) on April 1st this year, under the name 'Cluppo'. Hell, she even invented her own genre - HippyPop - just for it. It's an MV that will put a smile on your face, as it's a great song that, even as a musical joke (ha! Miku and Mozart sharing ideas!) is better than any other Pop song around. And Miku looks even more unfeasibly, ridiculously beautiful in it too. 'Thrill' was their breakout song and it's a fantastic MV, though they also released a MV of them playing it at their online concert back in May. Look forward to your reaction to it.

Real Existence is another good early Band Maid. Most Maidiacs like it better than Thrill. Thrill isn't their best song but went viral and saved the band. Real Existence came out in 2015. There is a MV and a live on their channel. The live absolutely slays. Incredible energy

This was the first song that BANID-MAID composed n the record label accepted n put on the album , they had submitted other songs but the record label rejected them , after Alone Band-Maid started composing there own music , Kanami writing n arranging the music n Miku writing the lyrics , MISA adding her bass lines n Akane adding her Drums , Saiki n Miku collaborating on the lyrics .

Thanks man! Love this track (duh). It's pop punk at it's core, just...better (thanks Kanami!) Like you said, Akane KILLS it and Misa's bass lines are soooo tasty. The only thing I'd add to your comments is Saiki and Miku's harmonies. So pretty! After "Thrill", I'd echo the suggestion for "Real Existence" - Live. It's earlier stuff and it's heavier and...AND... it's THE definition of pure joy. p.s. Don't forget about Sokoninaru cuz.."Holy sh**", right?! 🤯😂 🕊
