Kanami's guitar does the singing. This was on the recent 8 song Unleash EP

The instrumentals are planned breaks so that Saiki, the lead vocalist, can rest her voice. She had a problem a few years ago with polyps in her throat that had to be removed. She now takes extra care of her voice. But beyond that the instrumentals have become fan favorites in that they show the awesome musicianship of the ladies. If you watch the videos of their instrumentals from the first to the present you will see how much they are continuing to grow and progress.

These ladies have a genre all of their own. They go hard, they go soft. They are always changing it up and doing things that make it interesting in their songs. Listen to a song 3 times and you will hear something hidden each time. As far as showing off they are "Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things". Most fans won't pick a favorite member, we love them all.

The Band-Maid smile! It's great, isn't it? I saw them in Dallas last October 21st. This was #8 in the set list, followed by two Miku songs "Rock in Me" and "Sayonakidori", then Miku does a bit called "Omajinai Time". All this gives Saiki a good 15 minutes off in the middle of the show to rest. She had surgery in 2017 on her vocal cords, so she is very careful now to not get overextended.

The longer that I listen to Band Maid, the more I realize that Sieke definitely needs a break. Miku writes volumes of lyrics for their songs. Sieke has to spit out more lyrics in one song than most bands do for an entire album. Songs like Blooming have a crazy amount of words. Finally Mincho does an amazing lead and she is able to breathe.
@waynebenedict46092 жыл бұрын
This is a epic instrumental song! It's even better done live! Band-Maid doesn't show off, they just show how much talent there is in this band! Kanami singing with her PRS in this song! Saiki requested this to open their latest ep, Unleash, and it shows the love this band has for each other, no egos involved!

Bad news, new EP Unleash just came out in September (this track is from it), so probably nothing new for a while yet. Good News, they have 6 other albums and a bunch of singles and other goodies that are full of great music. “All killer no filler” as they say. Just work you way through random stuff on their channel, they don’t disappoint

Band-Maid does some interesting things. They deliberately write songs with no vocals (instrumentals) or with Miku (rhythm guitar and 2nd vocalist) singing the lead (often referred to as Miku-songs) to give Saiki (lead singer) a short rest during concerts. For their acoustic concert last christmas, Miku rewrote one of "her" songs Sayonakidori, and she "accidentally" wrote out Kanami (lead guitar) as well. How many other bands would try to perform a song with neither the lead singer or the lead guitarist So for a complete change of pace, go listen to Sayonakidori Acoustic version.

Kanami was inspired to play guitar after hearing Carlos Santana... also one of the reasons she uses PRS... you should fire up the live Manners / Black Hole video ... or if you REALLY want to see what they can do .. Check out the acoustic versions of Catharsis or Sayonakidori ...and they are coming back to the US in May for Rockville in Daytona... who can say ROAD TRIP woohoo...

Many has allready said what I am thinking. But I want to add that to my ears I love their sound mixing of the bass.. I think many rock and diferent kinds of metal bands have to low mix of the bass. Both Love Bites and Band Maid push the bass more in the mix witch I would love more bands to do... And Both Fami from Love Bites and Misa are two brilliant basists so I dont wonder why.... But as said I would love more bands to upmix the bass more...

Instrumentals are not showing off.. I dunno about these days but nearly all metal bands used to have a few instrumentals back in the day! Band-maid have about 4 or 5 and at least 3 of them are amazing! (this and onset and without holding back). Band-maid play 1 or 2 instrumentals half way through their shows to let the vocalist rest her voice a while. p.s Dont pause in the middle of a Kanami solo or some fans will get mad lol. Wait till she's done speaking THEN pause :)
