It's impossible to hate Band-Maid! They are everything a rock and roll supergroup SHOULD be without the attitude. I'm so glad that they have released a much anticipated full album and announced that the have formed a management company to self manage all future concerts worldwide and their product merchandizing. The stated purpose is for them to "Dominate" the world with their music. So far so good!

It's really nice watching you discover the band that has kept me sane (well, depending on whom you ask) for the last 6 years. You two seem like a really nice couple, too. (Sorry if that's cringy) They are magical - as you said, insane talent and skill, and they somehow always seem to get better and better the longer you listen to them. The fact that they are still doing this for me after six years boggles my mind. I could go on forever, but yeah - I love them. They are a musician's, or music lover's band (I was a music major and many years ago a band director), but they are also for everyone. You can listen casually and bop your head, or you could concentrate on each instrument in wonder, both at each member's skill and the quality of the writing - noticing something cool and new each time. Did I say I was not going to ramble? Sorry.

I got to say that *BAND-MAID* has the best community around. 🤗 Since this year *BAND-NAID* was focus on their new album I foresee an *Epic Narratives* 2025 tour. Since last time they tour Europe was in 2019 maybe 2025 might be the year. 😊

Thank you for the great reaction and getting to it so fast! You two are fun to watch on your journey discovering all the really great music out there that a lot of people seem to just skip on by. Can't wait for more and yes it is Bad LLama (you got it). Those who remember the Disney movie The Emperor's New Groove will get the context. Happy BDay to Mincho and the music playing... LOUD 😁🤘

Great reaction. Glad you two are enjoying your Ban-Maid journey. At the end of the day, great music is great music, no matter what the language To answer one of your questions, yes, for the most part, they've been writing their own music since 2016. Prior to that, they had song writers qrite for them. But since 2016, there was one song by the one of the old song writers and there have been a few collaboration pieces, but other than that, they have written the rest since "Alone". Kanami, lead guitarist, is the main composer. She sets the base of the song. And then sends it to MISA, bass guitarist, to lay down the bass lines, then Kanami works build the song by adding all the layers. Miku, rhythm guitarist, backing vocals, lead vocals, band founder and main spokes-Pigeon, is the main lyricist. She writes majority of the lyrics, but is in the more recent years has Saiki has helped with the lyrics. And Saiki, has done a few songs where she has written all the lyrics, like this song, "Hate?". Saiki is a very straight forward person and you can hear it in her lyrics. There is no mistaking there is hate in this song.😂 Miku tends to have almost poetic lyric flows and which often contains sone play with words and phonetics where they can have duo meanings. Hope all of that makes sense. It's just a snapshot view of their process. Anyway, Keep rocking with the Maid! PO!🕊 🤘🎂🤘

I love this band, in my top 3 greatest modern rock bands. Unbelievable talent.

Incredibly skilled, inventive, talented grown ups who are deadly serious about their music. 5 women who approach their concerts with joy and play with giddy abandon. Diligent relentless professional artist/entertainers who are bent on World Domination. Not a regular band. As Miku Kobato once said of their formation "It's a miracle"! Is it any wonder many believe that they are the Greatest Proper Rock and Roll band of the 21st century?
@normanweaver79352 ай бұрын
Your first Band-Maid reaction was to "Alone" which was the first song that they wrote and arranged entirely on their own that the label approved for release. It's from their third album and considered a "sacred" song by the fans. A lucky choice to start you on this journey. Most everything since is their own entirely with just a couple of exceptions. But there's some great performances even among the early work that was written by others. Recommend "Real Existence" (live)

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 My wife and I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. We were in bliss going through very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄) The title of this song is interesting. It is not just "Hate" but "Hate?", with question mark. The lyric is a little bit contradictory or ambivalent. If the girl hates the guy so intensely, why she hanged around with him so long enough to know his daily behavior (10 minutes of limp gymnastics 🤣 etc.) Is she giving him the last chance to restore their relationship? That is the point I talked with my wife on my way home.

Kanami (lead guitar) composes the music with Misa (bass) and Arkane (drums) also contributing. Miku (rhythm) is the primary lyric writer with Saiki (vocals) chipping in, Saiki though wrote the lyrics for this one when someone pissed her off.

a few years ago Band Maid said they were ending and going in a new direction with a new name and theme. this was all a April fools day joke but it involved a mini album and two music videos they really pushed the boat out, have a look at the music videos for either "Secret Maiko Lips" or "Gion-cho" by Band Maiko

These are some of the best days for rock music! Having played in rock bands since the 60’s, I truly feel there’s no better time to be into rock / hard rock / progressive rock than now! I still give the hundreds of cutting edge bands formed in the 60’s - 90’s, like the Beatles (50’s), to YES, to RUSH, to Foo Fighters, to… well, you know the massive list… I still give these mega bands with being first to blow the pants off the previous trends in music, and coming up with cutting edge innovation, melody, structure and listenability. Yes, the 1930’s through the 1950’s had their own innovative periods, but I’m talking after 50s rock. But with bands like Band-Maid, The Warning, Jinjer, and The Band Geeks (who are revising the YES sound with Jon Anderson to a new level of excellence), just to name three -- plus all the other bands and the ones I’ve yet to hear -- we are crazy lucky to be living in this, the second golden age of rock music! 🤘😉Thx, Jasmine & Connor!

Watch that guitar and bass battle again, but this time watch it as an argument. An argument between the boyfriend (bass) and the girlfriend (guitar). The bass starts the argument, "talking crap". Then the guitar answers back. The bass then answers with something snarky. The guitar mocks the bass then goes on a rant. The bass and guitar answer back and forth until they are both "yelling" at each other at the same time, eventually with the guitar having the last word, leaving the bass mumbling in the background. All leading to the singer's tantric foot stomping final "La la la la LALALALA!!"

Nest Rabbit hole might be The Warning say starting with Oh the video that broke them back in 2013 a cover or Enter Dandman up to their collab with Band Maid? Or perhaps close it out with the 2023 version of Enter Sandman live at Pepsi Center CDMX? Do not forget Survive from a Tedx talk at university of Nevada when the bass player was still a pre teen.

Yes, the lead guitarist (one of the soloists out the front) wrote the music, and the lead vocalist wrote the words -- inspired, it is said, by stories of unfaithful partners during Covid. The drummer and bassist wrote their parts based on the lead guitarist's draft composition. This was their 10th anniversary concert in late 2023 -- a banger.
