If you check out the lyrics, it tells their journey as a band. From difficult beginnings to taking over the unseen world, the future they want to create where they dominate. For me the video is a subtle way of saying they are not servants anymore but they own the house already. I think they finally realised how talented and great they are as a band, this track is so confident. They are on their way to world domination. Band-Maid is the best rock band of this era.

@@CUTnPASTEreacts Because they themselves never stop striving for better and greater. They don't stick to a genre, they explore all genres and take what they can from it. They also keep on working on their technical skills, and can do things they couldn't before. Every single one of them. Even on songs that received negative feedback like The Dragon Cries (not everyone hated it ofc, but it was one of their more divisive songs), this song is reminiscent of that, but so much better, no one can complain now.

@@leers1877 You're right about technical skills. I've just watched the 4 instrumentals on the blu-ray with the new album (individual maid view + group video for each song...20 videos in total...addictive!!!) and they've really pushed it...great new ideas. Track 3 'Giovanni' Akane goes Beast-Mode...and Miku progressing nicely.

I think those that have been following them for a while will recognize the story of their journey and declaration of where they are headed from this point, in both the music and lyrics of the song. There are also many Easter eggs in the lyrics and video itself... older songs, MVs, album covers... In the Limited Pressing edition of the album, this song appears on both the “Roots” and “Progress / Evolution” CDs. Once again reinforcing the music and lyrics of the song. It’s a storytelling and message.

Wow, I'm super new to the band so thx for pointing all of that out. I'll watch out for them the next time I watch the vid ✌✌
@phaeron3 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right with your assumption! The song is a statement about their evolution from the beginning 7 years ago with 'Thrill' to today 'Manners' and what it took to get here. 'Beginning' » 'Difficult' » 'Progress' » 'Courage' » 'Evolution'. Their new album 'Unseen World' reflects that according to Miku (band founder with the 2 braids) and is divided into 2 chapters: 1st (roots, 原点回帰盤) and 2nd (progress, 現点進化盤). They distinguish the songs stylistically from their beginnings and current state. Roughly speaking, this song could also be called a hymn of praise to themselves. That they have made it this far, did not let it get them down, are proud of it but above all are far from the end of their journey. And even though I'm still a newcomer among the fans (just over 1 year), I hope so much that we will still hear a lot from these ladies. For me they are the best that could have happened to the genre and the undisputed rock queens! 🤘 « Our rock never dies, ever. Forever! » 🤘 Edit: And thanks to your comment at the end about the visuals of the video, i'm now trying to understand how far they fit into the theme or if there is more to them. Miku is known for not only speaking through lyrics and music, but also with the help of visuals. One should not be blinded by her appearance and onscreen character. Behind all this, she is a multi-layered and very interesting person.

And believe me, there is not under estimating that woman on her talents after i learned that she writes most of the music I realzied she's got a lot of vision. Yeah, I am very sure, but don't know enough of their history, that entire video, visiually, told a story as well. the scenes seemed too specific to not mean something.

@@CUTnPASTEreacts Now with some distance I can't help thinking that there is a connection to the MV of "Don't you tell me". This definitely has Badass written all over it. I think this vibe stems more from their confidence now, not just in Kanami’s songwriting but also Saiki & Miku’s vocals. WD was their most solid hard hitting album but it was also a wall, and Conqueror felt like their attempt at going past that, redefining themselves, trying new things. The vibe it gave me was a fresh, experimental one. But on Unseen World, they just went all in. I don’t have a musical background but its still obvious to me how confident Kanami in particular has grown with the many choices she made throughout this album. Its not the same on-your-face rock energy anymore. There are moments where she pulls back and lets it simmer like the bridge section of manners and then there’s places like in H-G-K and Black hole where she just let everyone go ballistic coz they know they can handle it now. This maturity is most apparent in this album and I feel its a huge step forward for her as a songwriter. Miku is the other one who impressed me the most. Her role felt like it switched from just the backup singer/rhythm guitarist to a separate instrument handling all their sound effects 😅 she is all over the place and added so much to the rich dynamics esp. in the vocal sections. This album, in all sense the word, felt like the culmination of everything they explored in Conqueror. Truly their latest, and firmly their Finest. With a capital freaking F!

This is my #1 Band-Maid song. It grabbed me from the start, feeding my soul. When I first heard it, my thought was this song shows their maturity as a band. With the instrumentation and change ups, slightly off kilter pauses that make you pay attention and keep the song fresh, Saikis on point vocals (She is one of my favorite vocalists) and Mikus vocal stylings make this a phenomenal track. I think it may be one of my top 5 rock songs of all time.

@@CUTnPASTEreacts Well said. B-M make a concerted effort not to be a cookie cutter band. They constantly switch things up with time changes and accented pieces & like you heard in "Manners", they ditched the chorus completely the third time & then finished with a lounge jazz outro. @@DavidMISAMISAMISACook It could be. Someone called mish pointed out that tho the song is self explanatory there are a lots of song & visual references covering their career. He/she explained Miku attending to & Kanami watering the plants referred to their roots (beginnings) thru to their growth & progress & continuing evolution. Their hands apparently represent their growth like a time elapse of fast growing grass (hence the nurturing & watering of the plants). I'll have to scrutinise what's happening in the background of the MV cos I'm sure I've missed lots of things :)
