It is 2024 & I discovered Lara this year. Some of this you know, but the intersection of Marketing & Label conflict’s between Lara & Celine Dion. A gentlemen’s agreement or this case gentlelady’s agreement Celine got the U.S. Market & Lara the remainder of the World. Consider this that across the Canadian Border Lara was a ⭐️ big star. This Concert was shown on PBS to fund themselves & she was aloud to sell CD’s & DVD’s as part of PBS campaign for cash. Adagio was an Instrumental that earliest date is 1685. Lara was approached to write the lyrics, reluctant but did produced this Master Piece. Lara was a fixture on the EuroPop Rock Charts. She now sings in 12 Languages & speaks in 7 Languages. In the end Lara has become truly an international star. It’s 5/1/2024 Lara released a French Album & she is out on tour. ✌🏼

@@CUTnPASTEreacts Dear CUTnPASTEreacts if you're wondering why you haven't heard of Lara Fabian before the year that you made the "Je Suis Malade" reaction video, is because and thanks to Walter (baby love) Afanasieff and Sony who destroyed her career and pulled her off the US billboard in the late '90s early 2000s. They wanted to transform her from a full emotional flawless Soprano artist to a shallow low-end singer giving her some boring dance songs involving 40% of her capacity and 0% emotion. They tried to change totally her appearance as well. Of course, she resisted. They also destroyed her personal life making her lose a lot of time trying to find herself again. For the sake of God, she was not even allowed to sing Adagio in the US and so on and so forth. She has exposed this "dark plot" so to speak, in some of her interviews on french tv, Canadian tv, and elsewhere. Celine as she is older than Lara, she was known earlier but they both participated in the same Eurovision contest back in the '80s thus they both became known to the masses. Lara's openness, sensibility, and emotional generosity it's out of this world. You notice that by the way she hags, squeezes, and kisses the people she likes, admires, and respects. This emotional generosity she shows to her music, giving 100% of herself, shows for the people too. Imagine when Lara's soul met with the wrong people how disastrous would be and that's in fact what happened. Apart from the above, the economic loss for Lara was severe appearing as of today her net worth is less than 20 million where Celine's net worth is near a billion. That's too bad!

Floor Jansen's cover is out of this planet, but this performance is simply out of this galaxy just because she is the one who wrote the lyrics and knows exactly how to deliver them to the audience. About Floor Jansen's cover, if she wanted to copy exactly Lara Fabian's performance she has absolutely the voice and the technique to do it so, but she chose to do her own interpretation and there she couldn't do it as Lara Fabian as it's a personal song. Once she was a coach in "La voix" (Quebec's version of The voice) and a little 17-year-old girl did this song for the blind audition and she did it well, but no one have buzzed, then Lara asked her, how old are you? the girl said 17 and there she told her "Listen my dear, you did it very well, but you should have chosen another song, for this one you should live at least another 15 years to feel it and then deliver it as it should be"

She already has 3 decades’ career of singing (in 12 languages), acting, producing, song writing and she done concerts all over the world from Russia to Canada & Brazil.around 1999-2000 when sony released her first english album, the sales in France & latin America were massive but not as much in US. She faced a lot of comparing with Celine and there was some sort of jealousy from the team behind Celine whom had bigger connections in US due to Celine’s husband. Lara ended up returning back and focusing on the French-Canadian, European & Russian markets more than the US.

I'm so happy truth is coming out litle by little... at last! Yes, money and big connections have been roughly at stakes. What makes me happier though is that she's getting more and more recognition. Though she's known in Europe mostly, in USA, everyone who's hearing her (amazed and in awe) is wandering where she's been all these years out of their reach. How come she didn't make it there... Wow! Just to let you know... I've been blessed to see her in one of her first concerts ever - in the province of Quebec, when she was only starting her career and I can swear that in the second row (I could see her very clearly of course!), I've just stood up right away for the ovation while people were still applauding :) Yes, she might have suffered a lot through all this. But I think she never would have become the Best if not. Bittersweet. THanks again for your comment.

I'm from Quebec and Celine Dion and Lara Fabian are both hugely famous here. Celine Dion had a manager called René Angelil who is a very powerful producer in the show business industry and who also happened to be her spouse. She was "connected" to the American show business industry while Lara Fabian didn't. Therefore, she didn't receive the same fame. But they are both very talented. I prefer Lara Fabian but it's a matter of personal taste. Lara Fabian also had a brilliant career but she was not famous in the U.S. because this is a very "closed" market. Americans are consuming mostly American stuff and the "Hollywood" network is the most powerful soft power in the world. If you are successful in the U.S., you can basically be successful anywhere even if you're crap. lol

You wanted to know why Lara isn't as popular as the other divas in the US, so this is the explanation: Lara Fabian could have been a superstar worldwide (and in the USA in particular), she confessed last year in Canada where she lives, the reason why she didn't make it in the USA. At the time, she and Céline Dion had the same music company (Sony), Céline was already a star in America, when Lara had just arrived. Lara revealed that Céline Dion's team (not Céline herself, but René among others) did everything possible to sink her/sabotage her career as Lara had the whole package to also become an immense star in America, and worldwide. The music company didn't want another huge voice to compete with Céline's, and instead of supporting her, of supporting her style of music/songs (such as 'Love by Grace'), Lara was forced to leave it for another company and forced to change her professional team. As a result, it was all over, the other company formated Lara to make her sing pop songs such as "I will love again", a style of music/songs for which Lara and her stunning voice weren't made for, they also wanted her to lose 20 kilos and asked her to go blond. Such a waste, as she should be as famous and successful as Céline or Mariah Carey today. Having said that, she has a lot of respect & admiration for Céline Dion, and is very happy with her great career. Her idol remains Barbara Streisand. (Funny anectote here about her : kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6bGYYtpdrtrnNk )

I see that my fellow Lara Fans already explained why she is not as known in the US, but a living legend pretty much everywhere in Europe, Asia and most part of South America. IAs a trained singer myself I can honestly say that Lara is in her own league. I grew up idolizing Barbra Streisand (so is Lara) and Edith Piaf. I started to sing because of them and I thought nobody could reach their level. Than in 1994 my world has changed forever. There are many songs that stands out from Lara's 30 years long career and a few of them are already listed below by others. If you truly want to know why is that Lara is so special, so above all the rest I would like to suggest that you watch and react to these 4 live performance in 4 different genres: rock, jazz, Broadway musical and classical opera.: 'Requiem Pour un Fou' An iconic duet with the legendary Johnny Hallyday back in 1998 in a pouring rain, in front of 80.000 fans (including myself) in the Stade de France. It's pretty well known that Dion's people sabotaged her at Sony/in US market. Which? Knowing how important writing and producing is to her, probably turned out the best for her. But not for us American late-to-the-party fans. 🙁 If you want to see the Rock star side of her, Requiem Pour un Fou with Johnny Hallyday at the huge outdoor concert was great. a big difference between multi shots video clip and live performance. yes, amazing singer and notice the last breath at the end which add a great thing. It's true that very often in France, we call her "the french Celine". But she is an artist by herself. I love Floor but you can't compare the 2. Lara is more "classic", Floor is more rock. Thank you so much for reacting to the same song after you received feedback about how much better her live performance are. Lara is HUUUGE internationally. She sings in so many languages, that if you watch some of "The Voice" episodes from different countries, her songs are featured very prominently as they are deemed to be classics. If she wasn't huge internationally, Dimash wouldn't have been aware of her let alone have her inspire him to help his performance level be at at the place where it is. I'm sure you will be recommended Caruso, (she is completely fluent in Italian being that her mom is Italian), one of the most touching covers of an absolute classic song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGmmfpRnlrSLq7c But I want to recommend you another song that is not known among reactors, a duet when a young Lara Fabian was invited for a passionate duet with Billy Holliday, at the time considered a rock God in France. You will see that even from the beginning of her career she gave her all to her performances, and held her own even as an unknown at the time. Your subscribes will probably be super grateful to discover another amazing Lara Fabian masterpiece: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnnaenlsn9KCebs

FYI: the reason,why Lara was not that known in US because her record company Sony Music gave her limited exposure and marketing. as you might know, Sony Music's boss Tony Mottola handles the Trinity who are Whitney, Mariah (his wife) and Celine. Lara was tagged as the 4th Voice by %ony Mottola but Sony somewhat got "scared" that Lara might be more popular than their so called TRINITY.

That was the perfect reaction my brother! Lara Fabian the greatest female voice on planet Earth should have been the most popular but they wanted to build up Celine Dion pathetic. David Phelps is the greatest male voice on planet Earth. His most popular life videos of. Just As I Am. No More Night. Never Walk Alone. Nessun Dorma. Mio Bambino Caro. Oh holy night. I have nothing. Had many more. I appreciate you brother, until next time stay well

The reason you didn't hear Lara is because of the US music industry's manipulating what it wants the public to hear. They has Celine, Whitney et al and did not need another female diva. Not that Lara is in any way a "diva", in fact she is the very opposite, a caring, loving and amazingly intelligent woman. The US lost and the rest of the world gained an artist of the highest calibre.
@carolinehuppe1063 жыл бұрын
When she signed her contract in the USA, at the last minute they decided to label her as a pop signer not as a voice signer because there was already many female voice signer. It was very deceiving for her and finally broke her contract and quit the USA.

Lara Fabian is the Author & The Original Singer of "Adagio". I have heard the Dimash's version I don't like it it's so overacting with so many autotune but Lara Fabian is PHENOMENAL her voice makes the difference she is OUTSTANDING nobody can be compared to her. Maybe Celine Dion or Mariah Carey even Whitney Houston❤❤❤❤ so yes Lara is one of the best singer ever💎💎💎💎

I agree. I love Floor's work, but to me, this version is a level above what Floor did. Maybe it has some to do with the accompanying band with Lara that helps add to the drama, but just the same I think Lara ' s version is better.

By the way, you were right to pronounce Je suis malade with the e in the end silent. Lara of course was right as well to pronounce the e at the end of malade. In every day French (and prosaic texts) it's silent, in poetry and song it's pronounced (if it fits the melody and the rhythm).

for info she must release an album and sing this song in the usa but at the last moment this album was withdrawn from her and even the tv shows where she must promote her album under the pressure of certain artists (we are talking about celine dion and other artists) and instead she sang a song that wasn't really in her register that's why she never had the success she deserved

You know she wrote this song ... she was signed by Sony in the us and the dion team blocked her... also know that there is a big competition between her and dion because they both are out of Québec Canada . Lara writes her song and music , dion doesn’t . Lara is emotion, Celine ... not so much

Everyone wants to compare Floor's version to this one. You really can't compare Lara and Floor. Two completely different singers with different styles. When I see a video of Lara singing in a straight tone plus belting plus operatically plus a ton of grit plus death growls all in the same song, then we can compare them. Until then, let's just enjoy them both for what they are.
@CUTnPASTEreacts3 жыл бұрын

@@CUTnPASTEreactsFloor is a great singer, but she is a generalist, which prevents her from being excellent in all vocal styles. Floor's strong point is her belting technique, since her lyrical singing and her throaty vocal are not very developed. You can find better female guttural vocals and better female lyrical vocals. Being a generalist allows for variety, but not great quality in all styles. Some vocal style ends up being harmed. Lara Fabian is not a generalist, but an expert, and an exceptional singer in her specialty. Floor is also an exceptional singer, but in the belting technique.

Dear CUTnPASTEreacts if you're wondering why you haven't heard of Lara Fabian before the year that you made the "Je Suis Malade" reaction video, is because and thanks to Walter (baby love) Afanasieff and Sony who destroyed her career and pulled her off the US billboard in the late '90s early 2000s.
