Its what i am saying ALL THE TIME! Band-Maid is the most versatile band out there and that is the reason they are my favorite. Like you said: SO MUCH EFFORT in only one song, alone in this song there are ideas for 3-4 songs alone and they SOMEHOW are able to construct it into ONE song... I will never getting tired of this type of music, it will never get boring, they have so much in store, i am excited to see and hear what type of album they are gonna release this year (you can bet on it). I hope they will also announce the EU tour soon, cant wait to see them live again!

In all the songs of BAND-MAIKO, Saiki uses the word called "Kyo-kotoba(Kyoto dialect)". The Kyo-kotoba has many special phrases that are different from the so-called "Kansai-ben(Kansai region dialect. Kyoto is included in the Kansai region)", and even if you are from Kyoto, it is not a word that ordinary people other than maiko and geisha use on a daily basis. Many maiko are not from Kyoto, but when working as a maiko in Kyoto, it is not desirable to use the dialect of the region in which they were born and raised. Therefore, the training content of Maiko includes the acquisition of this Kyo-kotoba. The Kyo-kotoba is, so to speak, a "common language" for maiko and geisha. ※ "Maiko( Pronunciation is my-ko)" means a person in the apprenticeship stage of Geiko (Geisha).

Basically KANAMI plays MIKU'S parts for recording. Traditional instruments (and orchestra parts of SENSE) were KANAMI's sound effects using her synthesize.

The amount of music in that woman's head is mind-blowing at times. :) (Orchestra parts in Sense were actually recorded by a real orchestra/chorus to my knowledge. Kanami had to study up on her orchestral composition to create it lol.)

The traditional instrument sounds seem way too complex and authentic to be synthesized sounds, IMHO. I would guess that they were prerecorded by professional musicians that specialize in those instruments...which would be far more professional (and in line with Kanami's way of doing things) than coming up with fake sounds that could be easily noticed by anyone knows anything about the instruments in question.

Not sure about back during this concert, but in the fam cams of their Euro/US tours in 2017-2018, Miku was playing th at part and in one of the videos you can see and hear her make a mistake and her being visibly disappointed with herself. Not sure if it’s still out there. Band-Maiko lyrics by Miku are different from their original songs and are written in Kyo-Kotoba (Kyoto dialect used by Kyoto Maiko), well as far as she could anyway. Must be very difficult for someone not from Kyoto to use the dialect.

It's a beautiful thing to see Wave become a true Maidiac. Feels like yesterday when he first heard of them. Live version of "One and Only" MISA's bass intro, the breakdown...but for me Miku's layering on the vocals is the kicker that makes this song special.

Kanami's thought processes have always puzzled me. Off stage she doesn't act like a mature genius guitarist as we all know. On stage she is total rock goddess often 'lost' in her music but there is a third stage - off stage composing. Much of her work is so far from conventional rock, indeed conventional music. I have said before I think she is probably a musical savant. Whether or not I am convinced that she does not think in anyway conventionally. She is a workaholic with a huge output and everything gets more and more complex. It is to their eternal credit that the members of Band Maid are able to interpret this material so expertly and even add to the final sound. In Misa and Akane, Kanami is backed to two hugely talented musicians and Saiki has the voice and technique to interpret the score. Kanami is building towards something very special I am sure. What and when remains to be seen.

This is one of the first Miku + Kanami duality solos. Miku is playing a jazz-ish bluesy off beat riff that needs to match Kanami’s lead. It took her a lot practice to able to play it. This is also a theme song of a horror film and Kanami was feeling like a mad scientist when she got the job. XD Also, this has one of my favorite Miku harmonies in all of their discography, especially at the last chorus in which Miku adds a melodic back-up phrase.

Whenever I hear the Maiko songs, I have this picture in my head of seeing a live performance of our ladies, where they invite 3 or 4 guests from the Wagakki Band to play the traditional part.
