This was great. You're doing something no one else that I have seen is doing. I'm not a musician, but I like to get a better idea of what's going on. If I had to represent Band-Maid with one song, this might be it. Dirty, grungy riffs transition into an almost pop bridge and then back into it, all with some beautiful vocals over the top of it all. But I think this is just my #2 favorite however. The next song in the set, Puzzle, being #1 for me. There is also a beautiful acoustic version of Puzzle where it is just Kanami and Saiki performing the song. So if you happen to do Puzzle, it might be interesting to check out the acoustic version later and break down how they made a heavy rock song into a beautiful acoustic piece. I would definitely be interested in that. I'm sure many others would as well because Puzzle is a Maidiac favorite.

At the end of this song they are going directly into Puzzle. Talk about a one two punch! You won't just dissect and analyse them, you'll fall in love. Live Moratorium! Yes! That is one of the best Band-Maid videos. Puzzle is amazing, and I will be very surprised if your reaction/analysis is under a half hour. :) There is a widely loved acoustic version of Puzzle as well, but I think it's important, especially for a musician like yourself to hear the live version from this show first. I was curious how come you know so much about music theory stuff- do you mention what your music background is somewhere? Are you in a band or write music etc?
@JbfMusicGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Sure! I taught myself basic music theory in high school, took it in my last year, worked for a bit then ended up studying music at university. Started teaching and gigging professionally a wee bit after graduating. I've been in a good few bands through the years, but nothing particularly significant!

Once again, awesome work Jack! The two, wait, three main things I learned: 1. I loved this song before I watched, now I love it more. (That kinda rhymed. Sincerest apologies.) 2. Staccato cheese is an ingredient in lasagna. 3. Band-Maid bobble heads REALLY should be in all Band-Maid videos. Thanks Man, love this stuff!

I have loved this performance since it was first dropped,one of my favorite Band Maid performances. Special shout to JBF (or possibly the compositional skills of Kanami). The longest that you let a segment of the song to play without hearing a new nuance to point out was 23 seconds. That is a complement. If this song were a movie it would be to expensive because every scene would be an epic.

I think there are at least 19,100 people out here who are very happy with how you do your reaction to the song, enjoy your analyses of the different instruments and get to learn from your guide to the licks, riffs and other musical magic going on. For me, a non musician, your explanations and examples increase my understanding of what's being played and raise my appreciation of the ladies' skills even higher. That bit (possibly not a musical term) just before that Hendrixesque solo reminds me so much of Sabbath - Iron Man or War Pigs maybe.

Put that ^ in the description as well and have 'Analysis' in the title. This approach isn't for everyone, but I'm sure there are plenty of low input reactions on KZbin, which will be more up your street!
