The five-member group has made waves over the past few months for their cute, authentic maid outfits combined with their impressive musical skills. BAND-MAID®’s music videos “Thrill” and “Real Existence” have each surpassed 1 million views on KZbin and gained the attention of fans worldwide, including mainstream magazines Guitar World and Metal Injection.

Miku is the original organizer of Band-Maid, since all members of the Band were called up by her. Miku actually worked for several years as a hostess wearing a maid style dress at a certain maid café in the downtown Tokyo, Akihabara , where is the mecca of maid café in Japan. Their maid style costume is , therefore, a symbol of Band Maid with such a historical background. And now, you’ll see the maid style costume is NOT a nonsensical idea for them. Meanwhile, MIKU does a very unique way of greeting, just by saying KRUPPO or POPO. Wherever the band may go and play at a live stage, she sticks to her own way of greeting to the audience. saying like that.

It's part of the character she's playing in the band. Or at least that's my best guess. She seems to be going for a tsundere maid sort of character. Each band member is playing a different type of maid as part of the act. Misa seems to be playing a similar type of character. When doing publicity for the band (music videos, interviews, etc.), they're usually in character, which is likely why they always seem bored or annoyed. They do slip out of character from time to time, though. Their performance at Sakura-Con is a great example. *Huge* smiles when they introduced themselves. :)

I'm sure everyone's given opportunity to say something, Misa and Saiki just doesn't want to say anything. Or maybe Miku's like, ok listen up, only me, so so will be speaking, the rest of you shut up. That would be funny. But seriously, in a group they'll always be 1 or 2 shy/introverted ones who doesn't care to say much. But Saiki definitely needs to speak more, she is the lead singer. However, they're still pretty young and just going with the flow for now.

It's their only stop in the U.S...for now. Sakura-Con was their first international show. I expect they'll be traveling internationally a lot more in the future as they definitely have a growing international audience. Sakura-Con introduced them to a lot of people that had probably never heard of them. The reactions from the people that were there seem to be mostly positive and enthusiastic. It's unfortunate that not all of their U.S. fans were able to make it to this particular show (I really wish I could have gone) but they'll no doubt be back many more times. :)

In actuality, if they stick with it, and grow as a band who plays for large audiences, sound engineers get better, and really, these girls are already the best all girl band I've ever heard, I almost cannot believe the quality of the songs they have on yt, They will be better live, once they get comfortable here,

Moon Hitsearth Believe me, I wish I could be bragging about seeing them perform live in their first international show! The girls deserve all the praise and support they can get as far as I'm concerned. They're amazing. The cellphone videos taken in Seattle don't do their live performances justice at all. Alas, I wasn't there but I did live vicariously through other fans that did get to attend. ;) Whatever the case, I agree. They have nowhere to go but up. They've gained a lot of momentum since "Thrill" was released and I only see them getting more popular as more people discover them. It's great to see hard work and genuine talent paying off. It makes me very happy that more people are discovering and loving the band. My favorite thing about introducing people to Band-Maid is their multi-stage reaction: 1) "Oh, another kawaii idol group. Very cute! JPop is fun!" 2) "Holy $%^&! That is *not* the sound or talent I was expecting at all! This is amazing." 3) "Why aren't these girls more famous yet?!" It would have been fun to witness that at Sakura-Con on a massive scale! :D
