The First Take is a popular channel that features young Japanese artists and famous singers from the past singing hit songs of their time, recorded in one take. Recently, several top-notch artists have appeared on the channel, perhaps as a Christmas present. I would like to request MISIA. She is a Japanese diva who sang the national anthem at this year's Tokyo Olympics. Two of her moving songs are "To Tomorrow 明日へ ," a song about the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, and "Higher Love," an uplifting and exhilarating song for Christmas 🎄✨

Every song they do just makes me feel HAPPY. No matter what style the song is. I need a poster of that beam of light piercing through MISA. And I'm too old to have rockstar posters on the wall. But it is just so cool.

'Sense' is the opening theme for the new anime Platinum End hence the intro and frantic pace.

They are the complete crossover band with so many styles melded into their songs, and (I hate placing an 'and' after a comma but it has to be done), and you know what, it bloody well fits perfectly, this is where the 'prog' comes into their style, freakin awesome. Band-Maid are the only band that I can say I listen to every day and never get bored with. I've been an avid music fan for the best part of 45 years and appreciate a huge amount of musical styles. I was saying on the Band-Maid Reddit and many will agree that every time you listen to a particular song you'll always find something new to experience and enjoy.

Jeez, between the teaser, reactions, and the MV itself I've gotta be over a hundred views. And probably half those times I noticed something new I missed before, which is crazy.

Everything in this video revolves around the theme of Platinum End, the anime this song was written for. The lyrics (the band's lyricist is Miku, red flower), the feathers, the ominous sensation of darkness broken by the ray of light, the epic music... This is a work that cannot be seen in parts, It belongs to a whole. By the way: the song is amazing ...

i also highly suggest checking out the two b-sides: Hibana and Corallium. both are awesome, some say even more so than Sense.

LOVE Hibana´s riff, one of the most iconic main riffs Kanami created IMHO

From JAPAN Sense is the theme song of the Japanese anime "Platinum End". Platinum End is a new work by the Death Note writer, and 24 episodes of the anime are scheduled to air. There are two more new songs on their KZbin channel Sense CD. HIBANA:spark full speed hard rock, Corallium hip pop style dancing hard rock. The three new songs are all different and all good, all like BAND MAID. They are constantly evolving with new challenges. Please listen.

For some it takes a few listens for the song to "sink in". I have been listening to the Maids long enough now that I instantly hear and feel what they are saying with each new song. IMO they can do no wrong. The power of this band just continues to grow.

Akane was more excited about the release of this song than being in the movie "Kate", and now we know why! Platinum Edge made the right choice in choosing this song for the anime opening! Band Maid, warp speed ahead and no slowing down!

It amazes me how Kanami can come up with awesome riff after awesome riff. BAND-MAID is always exciting and never gets old for me. If you want more Japanese rock/metal that involves black feathers, great vocals, and high levels of musicianship, I suggest "Unending Sorceress" by Unlucky Morpheus. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnTZZKZmiZmVrpI

Great! and thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 You can taste different flavor of B-M with a song "About us". Misa's jazzy bass stands out in the song. Please listen to it with CC on.

Sense is one that took me a few listens to "get." Different (also written for an Anime) was the same way. There's so much going on, I get a little lost. Of the new ones, I found Corallium more accessible, and I still love it's funk bass.

Whilst Bandmaid isnt my favorite of all the Japanese Metal bands I do appreciate how skilled they are and typically of these Japanese lady groups how good they are live. This is a pretty good song and I always try to push them as Western people generally like their sound as its familiar with their ear. Whilst checking the Japanese wave of metal bands new to me I found another one that you may enjoy. ALDIOUS play power metal and a genre I hadn't heard of called melodic metal. They are very popular in Japan. Been around since 2008 but have had a few lineup changes. They have had some bad luck with lead singers health wise so have just released one of their previous songs live called WE ARE with their new singer Maki Oyama. Her voice is excellent and the band as usual are great musicians. Music trivia: Their drummer is called Marina and she is the step daughter of Frank Zappa's drummer Terry Bozzio and has 3 kick drums like her dad. Not sure if you have checked them out yet.

i wasn't sure if she was gonna be the permanent singer but i hope its true. but yeah her rendition of WE ARE is awesome!
