Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. Great reaction and breakdowns. You seem to like the blending of genres, you're in for a treat as the Maids have a knack for mixing and matching genres at will. All seamless and amazing. We call the genre Band-Maid. "Thrill" was the MV which saved the band. Their first MV and if it didn't succeed, the label was going to disband them. Luckily for us, the MV was posted on the book of faces and went viral. A million views in a couple of days. Get ready to dive into the pigeon-hole, as it is deep and diverse. Enjoy the journey. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 Next: "From Now On" OMV a kick 🍑instrumental "Warning" OMV will definitely get your heart pumping "Manners" and "Black Hole" Official Live MV, a great two-for reaction piece. The first a bluesy rock groove. Then buckle your seatbelts...a chaotic ride of being sucked into a black hole at light speed. Currently their highest bpm song at 220bpm. "Hate?" Official Live MV from their 10th Anniversary Tour finale at Yokohama Arena. Song 27 of 33 in the setlist. Amazing how they take a song about pure hate and make it sound so nice. Look for the conversation with MISA (bass) and Kanami (lead guitar).

Welcome to band maid, the best rock band on the planet (imo of course). As you mentioned, they stared way back in the 2010’s (2013 specifically) but are still going strong today and have a new album coming out this month. They are primarily a hard rock band, but they dabble in lots of genres. If you want a more metal sound from them check out Hate? (Live). Shambles (MV). Warning (MV) There are dozens and dozens more after those. And yes, they have a song with the Warning that is very good.

Welcome to the BandMaid experience. The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts: •Bass solos are more likely to happen than not •Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be •Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen. •Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre! •11 yrs with the same line up. Think about that. •More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole. •Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics. •Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's. •As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both. •Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese. Most songs are full of joy as well. •They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other. •Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.

Subscribed! 🎉 Thank you for sharing our favorite band on your channel. The typical Band Maid fan is a 50-something year old man, usually one who had given up on finding any good music after the nineties. Many are musicians themselves. The fanbase is incredibly loyal and happy, eager to share the best thing to happen in rock music in a long time. That should tell you just how good this group is. They’ve resurrected the best DNA of rock’s past and deliver it with huge doses of FUN You started off well! “Thrill” was their first video. Went viral and saved the band. They were in their early twenties. “DICE” is the prototypical Maid song, with many of their signature elements. And yes, most of their lyrics have a positive message, often poetic, usually in Japanese with English thrown in to keep you on your toes. Be warned. The Maids are no AC/DC. Each song you hear will usually be completely different from the previous one. Sometimes dramatically different. Be open and honest with your opinions and it will help with recommendations. If you liked these two? “Don’t you tell ME,” “Choose Me,” “the non-fiction days,” and “Turn Me On” will be in the same musical arena. Welcome to Band Maid 🤘🏽

Band-Maid is what happens when a Japanese pop singer pitches forming an all female rock band that wears maid café outfits, then recruits a formidable power trio as her backup. From that beginning, Band-Maid quickly evolved into the present day quintet. That was in 2013, and through countless ups and downs Band-Maid not only survived but are thriving to this day. Band-Maid is THE live show: they're amazing musicians, composers, lyricists, vocalists, and they deliver every time.

Hate (live), Domination(live), Warning(MV), Blooming (MV), would be good next choices. If you want a two-fer that will induce a bit of whiplash, try Manners/Black Hole (studio live stream). As much as I love The Warning and the way they have brought a youthful energy to the tired genre of classic rock, Band-Maid is just a different animal. Their ability to weave hooks into very technically dense compositions is unmatched in modern rock music. Add the quirky maid aesthetic, the fun personalities, and the insane skill level, and you have a package that's unlike anything else I've ever experienced. They are the pinnacle of rock for me.

Why Band-Maid is the best band on the planet right now. First their music, obviously. These ladies have genius level Talent on their respective instruments and vocals. Kanami is the Einstein of Rock and Miku is the Shakespeare of lyrics. So many great bands from the beginning of Rock till now have had songs that were truly bad. Band Maid has no such thing. Second is their relationship to their fans. They truly love and appreciate their fans even writing more than a couple songs showing that. Next we have their Humanity. Each one of these ladies represents the best of the human race. They are kind and humble to their fans as well as each other. Lastly is their dedication to their craft. They put an incredible amount of attention to detail in every single one of their songs. Every member contributes to the crafting of their amazing music.

Welcome, Nic, to the best progressive hard rock band on the planet. Formed in 2013, still going strong today. Thrill (2014) saved them (strongly liked by their overseas fans); Dice is off Domination (2018), an album that sits in the middle of their discography. But really, pick any song to react to, they are all fabulous. The Maids (Saiki, Miku, Kanami, Misa, Akane) are virtuoso on their instruments. The song writing is God tier. You have also now attracted the attention of the Maidiacs - their extremely loyal fans. We are now going to pester you very badly. Lastly, the Maids are incredible live. After over four years of plucking up my courage (I live in Australia, so distance is real), I've finally taken the plunge and will go to Tokyo to see them at Haneda over two nights at the end of November. If you grow to love the Maids as much as Maidiacs do (we adore them, mate), you really will want to see them live. Thanks for the reactions!

And a thing about the maid outfits, MeJu: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!

Welcome, MeJu (Metal Junkie ;-). You are embarking on (along with many others - over 210 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid: BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Thrill ... the earliest BAND MAID. At this point is was unknown if they would continue as a band ... thankfully, they did ;) . At the time of Dice our MAIDs had come into their own, after struggling early on for control of their music and the ability to write and record their on songs. Progress beyond the World Domination album has already been shown. Pick a song ... from any BAND MAID era ... there are no bad ones. They don't write filler. BAND MAID is: Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - rhythm guitar, vocals, PR (Band founder, lyricist ... our flappy pigeon, po!) Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar (musical composer extraordinaire - the princess) Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, percussion (see bananas ... and ramen - the gorilla) Misa - bass guitar (drinks hard liquor and performs without shoes on stage - the barefoot assassin) Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - lead vocals ("we dance in the palm of her hand" - Domination - BAND MAID crowd control - The Queen)

It's just a intro for the huge band-maid's song.😅😅 Over 120 songs and more with the new album in september.

This is the band I've been waiting for since I discovered hard rock in the early '80s. If you took all of their worst songs and put them together in a single recording, it would still be a really kick-ass album. Thanks for the reaction!

Mr. Metal Junkie, by the smile on your face and your head bobbing to the music, I’d say you have just been Band-Maid! Welcome to your new favorite band of possibly all time. Rush was my number one favorite band all time until I heard 5 songs from these 5 magnificent talented women from Japan! Sorry Geddy and Alex you’ve dropped to number two. Try the song “Blooming” official music video next and you’ll hear how talented the lead guitarist Kanami is who also writes and composes most of the music.

Nice. You just stumbled on the Band-Maid rabbit hole. You are going to get a load of Band-Maid suggestions, plenty of good songs to pick from, they have over 100. So I will do this instead Edit, just realised you already know Lovebites, so you already know the Japanese all women and women fronted metal / rock / punk rabbit hole. But here are some suggestions to kick you down it further! As far as I can tell these are all new to you, at least from what I can see in your channel history. Do official live videos. MVs are good but this group excels live. Have heard some big names that sucked in concert.

Yep, Thrill is a more straight forward and simple (for them) rock song with catchy pop vocal melody andybody can hum along to while DICE does some proggy stuff in the verses but ultimately holds true to its pop-punk heart in the chorus and bridge. That said, you don't find shredding guitar solos like that in pop-punk songs; trust me, I've been searching for well over 20 years and grew up on this stuff. Distinctly different but still catchy. They dabble in far more sub-genres of rock though; too long to list honestly, but keep listening and you'll find something new you never knew you would love until you hear their take on the subgenre.

Ngl, Those are weird recommendations to get you into band maid. Thrill and Dice are old songs (especially Thrill, which was their break through song), and the maids are best *live*, even if the MV's arent bad. Oh well...off to Hate? Official live you should go ;)

First I think you'd really enjoy Real Existence Live. Also note the biggest reactions you've had were with The Warning and Band Maid. You'll see that with band-maid their whole catalog is diverse and deep with over 120 songs. Not a bad one in all of them.

Brother, you're in for a trip. Quite possibly the most talented band on the planet "technically". But Live performances is the way to go...."Domination" and "Onset"(instrumental) should be be your next move, THEN the current stuff. Prepare to fall in love

Hard rock, not metal -- with a fair dash of pop punk. Like many others, I suggest you try "Hate?" the official live video. Band-Maid will not block you for using any of their official videos. Only a few unofficial videos got blocked where the song had not yet been officially released, merely debuted on stage (early videos of "Show Them" live). This video "Thrill" is their oldest. You definitely should watch some more recent videos, like "Hate?", but also "Manners"/"Black Hole" -- "Manners" is funky, but "Black Hole" is noticeably heavier -- and their fastest song at 220bpm. Others might be "Rinne"(official music video) and the cool instrumental "From Now On" (music video). They are themed on Japanese maid cafes, not just their costumes but how they engage with their fans. Oh, and you are right about their allowing all the musicians to shine -- they have great bass, drums, and lead guitar, and they use all of them.

Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie & Band-Maid + others are phenomenal. The Japanese metal/rock scene is putting the rest of the world to shame with few exceptions. Dive deeper. You ain't seen nothing yet.

One of the things that has kept me away from a lot of western metal and hard rock is the downer lyrics. So negative! Can't they be positive eery once in a while? Japanese lyrics, not always, tend to be a bit more positive. Band-Maid especially but i've seen it in others too. No ranting about how religion fucked them up or the drugs or bad relationship, etc.

Calling this metal is what’s wrong with the music industry! Metal used to be a sacred club for believers and devotees to the cause! Now its used by promoters & record labels looking to capitalize….or am I wrong?

I'm old,I'm falling apart,I'm a jerk.....but my ears are working fine and I'm afraid I've heard all of this before!!!. Yeah they are great musicians, yeah they are really tight, but ultimately they become quite literally boring. The vocals are tedious to the point they become boring. The frenetic speed at which most of their songs are played becomes boring. Visually the "gimmick" of wearing what appears to be school uniforms becomes boring. Does a guy in AC/DC do that without being boring. ? I suspect two things here...firstly most of their fans will become adults and get bored with them......and secondly I'm getting bored with all of this!!!

Do the lives... BTW, BAND-MAID doesn't block videos, because that is how they became famous.
