One thing I love about Band Maid is that they preach: "Be yourself", "Stand Tall", "Take risks", "Seize the opportunity before you". Many bands advocate such ideas, but they really don't demonstrate these attitudes in real life. Band Maid lives as they advise you to live: Kanami fears heights, so she stands at the edge of a "cliff" in a stone quarry ("Inflencer"); they show the fire within and without ("Non-Fiction Days" -- at one point Akane's dress caught on fire...did this discourage them, making them afraid to use live flames in a video? [see "Warning" and "Shambles" for your answer]; yes, they really did strap-in on the top of moving cars on a dirt track "Warning"); yes, that really is an actual explosion behind them, not a post-production effect "painted-in" by computer ("Warning"). If you encourage others to be brave, to take risks, you have to be willing to do that yourself. Band Maid doers. They may dress like maids, but they are really badass women.

I can't 'thumb up' this comment enough. Band-Maid walks the talk and push themselves to be better with every new song. I wish more people could get past the 'maid costume' and realize just how amazing these 5 women are beyond the initial look. I was happy to see so many girls/women at the Anaheim performance. No better role models than Band-Maid!

You are ever so correct. I've been to shows from each of Band Maid's four U.S. tours, and have made a point of observing the various breakdowns that one might apply to those audiences. I don't care what anyone says, the number of women, younger people and people of color has increased with each tour. You want Band Maid to play to the most broadly-defined audience demographic as possible. Perhaps, if these trends continue, we will reach a point where American media people, promoters and music industry people can no longer ignore Band Maid, and the Ladies can FINALLY get the notoriety and respect that they've always deserved.@@ericpetersen6312

We're not quite at World Domination levels yet, Tom, & i know the tour helped but i've seen a sharp increase this year in the amount of people who love the Maids or have heard of them. And if Albert Bouchard from BÖC says he loves B-M then that's good enough for me in 2023 :)

Before discovering Band-Maid I was listening to the likes of Morissette Amon and Dimash so Saiki-san’s vocals didn’t impress me. She grew on me because her Alto range is amazing and after seeing her live you’ll realize that she’s rarely Off-key and that her breath control is top notch! I ♥️ her now!

When I first got into KZbin in a big way (covid work closure and at home) I got addicted to Morissette's 'Akin Ka Na Lang' and 'Rise Up' Wish Bus live videos. Amazing singer but I get bored with too many covers. Saiki, with the Maid's range of rock songs, is just more satisfying and original. Her tone reminds me of Pat Benatar...but with more consistently good songs.

My personal favorites, Band Maid ballads: 1) Daydreaming 2) Puzzle (acoustic) 3) About Us 4) Wonderland 5) Memorable Let’s gooooo! Band Maid! 🤘🏽 🔥 Edit after watching the live version with you: Wow, that was one of Saiki’s finest vocal performances of all time. I much prefer the natural sound over the lo-fi radio filter the use in studio. Such power, accuracy and emotional impact. She’s a special singer.

The Ladies stage show is rehearsed until they have a basic plan. If you can find the Behind The Scenes video of their Line Cube Shibuya show, you will see that they have a large practice studio with one mirrored wall, so they can see how it would look for an audience. And they will practice until they put together how they want it to be. From the Ladies all coming forward at the same time, to crossing the stage and even activating each other's guitar pedals, they practice and time it so it looks right. That is professionalism, dedication and Love. If they didn't love their fans, I doubt they would put in the effort and the time.

@@bruceveary1758 For many of us, the 5 young Ladies of Band-Maid are like family members. For me, I consider them to be like my other daughters. A couple of older Maidiacs have said they consider them like their grandchildren, and quite a few said they consider them like sisters or cousins. I don't know of any other band that has a fan base that is so involved in trying to nurture them, that it is extremely heartwarming for myself.

Concur with everything that you said. Band Maid are ultra-talented, often humorous, engaging Ladies -- in the proper sense [not the Miss Addams Finishing School for Elite Young women {"Watch your language and evidence oh-so-proper decorum"} sense. Anyone should feel privileged to know them (well, we think that we do) and to be a Master or Princess! The live concert had no audience(COVID restrictions were still in place),but it was live streamed to at least 67 countries. The ticket allowed one to watch it an unlimited number of times for 30 days. They were so bummed not being able to perform in public but wanted to do something for their fans. They even wrote and performed a song, like an open letter.of how they missed and appreciated their fans. BAND-MAID / about Us (Official Live Video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5rGmIl3raiMjJo includes the lyrics in the comments section It's a beautiful, slower song. Kanami opens with an acoustic guitar then switches to electric guitar. Thanks for reviewing the Maids; we Maidiacs really appreciate watching new reactions to their music.

the song is exactly what the title says. A Warning. To fans, labels, producers, whom it may concern. That Band-Maid is going to do THEIR thing, not what the vocal minority of fans ask for, not what labels ask for, but what Miku and Kanami want to do. They are their own boss, no one puts them in a corner. The same way that Manners was Miku giving their Mission Statement to the world.

Falling for Saiki’s voice was a huge eye opener for me. When I first listened to band maid I was so focused on all the instruments and just kinda understood the singing was fine. But once it clicked I was like omg I just wanna hear saiki sing everything. Also amazes me how she consistently sounds better live than any studio recording. There’s so much raw power. Two of the many things I like about Maid Rock; 1) Typical second verse change-up of arrangement...MISA typically getting more technical 2) A bass solo often hides in plain sight beneath a guitar solo. Bit of a theme here...only the bloody awesome MISA MISA MISA!!! Good reacting guys and it's great not to neglect the studio recordings because, with these gals, you get great technical arrangements...guitar layering and the sharp stabs of the bass drum pedals which hit you like bullets when played loud in the car. Then the live versions are like another gift box with more emphasis on my MISA, deeper bass drums so more emphasis on snare/toms...and Queen Saiki living large. She's my favourite female voice in rock since Pat Benatar...with more decent songs in the bag too (I wonder if you watched the 'Puzzle' acoustic live that was linked by someone in your Puzzles reaction. Or even better...watch the 'Anemone' and 'Puzzle' acoustics together side-by-side in the same concert).

Their execution is absolutely top notch. When you practice that hard, you can have fun and play at that level. You have to have that dedication to your craft, and talent, and they have both in abundance. I prefer the MV only because there isn't a crowd there. The execution is top notch, but there is something about having that crowd presence. As far as listening to either though, you can't go wrong because they play so flawlessly.

I do like this live (live streaming) but they always bring it up a notch when they have faces in front of them. I think all bands do. There's a pressure that comes from people standing right there watching and listening to you, and they really respond to that.
