Miku, the one who always seems happy and bouncy, wrote the lyrics. She has said in interviews that she gets ideas from many places, not just her own life, so we shouldn't automatically think this is about her. I really like that you two try to really understand the songs instead of just saying ooooh and aaaaaah about how they sound. Much respect.

I love when these two React! Especially to Band-Maid. It's like all their insides get filled with the music and I can see their bodies fill up with a liquid called BM Energy that then gets so intense it has to explode out of them like the flame coming out the exhaust in the video.

Great reactions! Everybody says similar things with Band-Maid videos: 1) oh my god, 2) this is my favorite Band-Maid song! Of their newer videos, "Warning!" is wild and crazy, "After Life" is almost as crazy, and "Manners" is my favorite - it has a lot of groove. Also, they did a live online concert last month in which they played the ballad "about Us" (a love letter for the fans) - it's slow and emotional, but Misa is really highlighted.

That´s my favorite song on the album... And the whole album is an Akane (drums) album for sure, she goes wild on that album. Kanami wrote songs with over 200 bpm and Akane is just sitting there smiling and beating the drums like a devil, it´s almost scary! On the last song "Black Hole" on the album they are even faster and Kanami asked on an stream with Herman Li "Dragonforce" how fast their fastet song is and it was 220-230 something like this and she said they will make an faster song, just for fun... Poor Akane 😁 Greetings from Germany, thanks for your reaction! And MIKU is writing the lyrics, she is really a little poet, i love the lyrics and songwriting (Kanami) of Band-Maid these two factors are the main reason i am an maidiac!

Been waiting for another Band Maid Reaction LOL Glad to see you again. I like your lyrical analysis, as you try to understand the story/message of the songs .... without reading the lyrics. Something we old guys used to do before the internet ;) Haven't really seen anyone doing it....or rather who does it well. Its more about the composition musically. It´s easy for Bandmaid to getting that impression of each song goes favourite.They amazingly go better and better since the begginning.Saiki vocals fit endlessly balanced and her skills make the songs sound catchy.Kanami solos and Miku rythm do what rock needs:consistent and solid.And of coure Misa and Akane always there to blow our minds.Loved your reactions

Dobro reaction ladies! You are right that you have to listen multiple times. Many of their songs are like that. So many nice details. This song was too chaotic for me when I first heard it, but now I really like it. "Manners" is still my favorite song in the new album though. Band-Maid is the BEST!!!

Nice reaction, ladies👍😁👍 Here is a little hint about "clapping" in the lyrics. It is not about applause to the band, but it is a part of child play called "Oni-san kochira". In this play, a blindfolded person (called "Oni-san," literally means "devil") tries to catch other players while they keep clapping to let Oni-san know where they are. Hope, with this little hint, you can enjoy the lyrics even more😜 (P_O)🕊❣

Some Japanese fans at Facebook have commented that probably it refers to a game which geishas/maikos play with their customer. A few geishas sing and clap their hands, while a (usually drunken) customer is blindfolded and tries to catch the one he likes the most, recognizing her by her voice. I think BAND-MAID identify themselves strongly with geisha/maiko culture. It's their roots, which they actually try to overcome. Hence the Gap...

@@VladimirChupin Although, "Oni-san kochira" is a children's play, it is also a part of "geisha asobi" (various play to entertain their customers) as you described. As for Maid/Maiko, I'm sure that you know Miku loves Kyoto (she often visits Kyoto), thus, she is quite familiar with Geisha/Maiko culture. Miku said that when she was thinking about the April fool's idea, she came across the idea of Band-Maiko because Maid and Maiko have lots in common. Since Miku is fond of Kawaii culture, she presented the idea to other band members (P_O)🕊❣

@@K.H.D710 I have heard recently a lecture on geisha/maiko culture 👍 I was really amazed to see how deeply BAND-MAID is rooted in this ancient culture. It seems Kobato-san, on one hand, draws on that culture, but on another, she's very unhappy about the negative side of it, with all the abuse and coercion that geishas had to go through. Now I understand much more about that "gap" idea. Indeed, it's probably like a psychological break-apart with the gloomy past for her. Now I see it all in a different light. Take the MV for After Life. That frustration which the people working inside the Maid Cafe system demonstrate... And Maid Cafes are pretty much the same idea of geishas, only in different outfits. And then BAND-MAID comes, and they all synchronize and become happy 😉

@@K.H.D710 True, of course. Maiko are not the only category of people in the customer entertainment business 😂 I used to work as a service engineer, and it's similar. I remember I visited once a customer at Sakhalin Island, it was a government food quality control lab. The two ladies who worked there on a mass-spectrometer, were already in their late 50s-middle 60s, I believe. And it was not easy to make them understand what they should do with the instrument... But they were actually quite self-critical, which is rare. One of them has said, "You are a calm person, you bear with our stupidity. But the guy who came before you, he was not so patient. He would often stand there at the window, looking outside, and would grit his teeth in frustration. We could only see how his ears were moving because of that." And that's the more educated, supposedly scientifically minded people. I imagine how much more difficult it is to work in a restaurant-or as a geisha, where you have to spend hours with a person who came specifically to get drunk and go crazy...
