This is actually one of the best interviews I've seen from the survivors, he's very smart and down to earth. And the stuff he says about how your brain protects you from certain traumatic memories is quite true. I think the sudden escalation between having fun at a night club, an accidental fire then a horrific tragedy is something human beings aren't mean to handle. Nobody that night was able to process what was happen

Glad he had a chance to escape out the exit that was “only for the band”...

That was only before that bouncer realized how bad it was! And then people started dying left and right! And almost everyone was going towards the front door.. away from the fire. And there just wasn't time. If he wouldn't have turned away them 2 or 3 people.. sure they would've got out.. but that would've been about it. The flash over happened.. and it was too late!

It's is hard to comprehend. Even after you see the video.. it's still hard to know what it was like. Because as soon as the camera turns away from the crowd.. The flash over happened! And then you see the smoke come pouring out over their heads.. and there was already people starting to die inside.. that freaking quick! It's unbelievable! As a guitarist and have played clubs just like that.. this horrible event scares the shit out of me! And I can go the rest of time not hearing desert moon. After seeing that video. My God!

How does the band survive when the fire started over them right on stage?

They had their own private Exit.

@@Sammy-mp9xn yeah the band had their own personal exit near the stage a handful of survivors said they all tried to go out the same door but a bouncer stopped them telling them all that the door was for the band only

@@Sammy-mp9xn That and they were the first to know how seriously out of control the fire was ... if you look at the video - when people near and nearer to the stage start to turn to leave the crowd at the back of the club still don[l know anything is wrong ...
@ryanjacobson25082 жыл бұрын
@@Sammy-mp9xn there was a stage exit, but keep in mind that it was club policy to minimize the opening of that exit in order to cut down on noise complaints from those who lived nearby. One of the bouncers (and evidently the club would often "hire" bouncers for concerts with an offer of free beer and a chance to watch a live show), as the fire started, guarded the exit and said it was club policy to not let patrons use the exit. Within 20-30 seconds of saying that the bouncer exited and by that point that area was full of flames and very few people were able to get to and use the stage exit. He probably caused at least 15-20 people to die.

They got outside before the flashover. Then everyone inside started dying. The band or anyone didn't really know how bad it was until that happened.. and people were dying everywhere!
