The scene where the whole company jumps into the ditches and winters pushed them forward by kicking them is historically accurate.

All in this series is historycally accurate!
@IrishTechnicalThinker Жыл бұрын
@@crnigruja2220 except when the series says Blithe died 3 years after being shot by a German sniper when in fact he only survived the war but went on to fight and serve in Korea. Also Dyke was wounded during the attack on Foye, so don't believe everything you see until you do more extensive research.
@hillsane9262 Жыл бұрын
@@IrishTechnicalThinkerSo, Dyke be wounded might be why he could not press that attack? Also, when they are going straight up the road, I know it's a coordinated attack from different sides, thus Winter's pushing them. However, would not the casualty rate been quite high with 2 mg covering approach? There is no one providing suppressing fire.

From what I've read, Winters really did brazenly expose himself to MG fire in the middle of the road, in order to urge the troops forward. The clanging from the brass balls that man had must've been deafening to the Germans, probably threw off their aim.

@neilfound35069 ай бұрын
The clues in the scene where you see the Fallschirmjager trying to escape, and getting shot down, most of the fields were deliberately flooded, it meant they only had the roads and causeways to attack along, that’s why the Germans knew exactly where to sight their weapons.
@Icemann897 күн бұрын
@@neilfound3506 OK, but we can see that some of them bypassed the road (1:36). This should have been one of their axis of attack since the beginning, but Winters decided to send everyone along the road, where a machine gunner was already waiting.
