Ngl his pre irradiated appearance in the movie was a little more scary than actual goji since he literally stared into the humans' eyes. The scene literally had me shaking in my seat.

This figure really does justice to one of the best intros to any Godzilla movie ever, although they missed out on a perfecttt opportunity to call him Godzillasaurus

One of the best intros it very much is. WOW. What a way to kick it off!! I think the only reason he’s not called Godzillasaurus is because Yamazaki has been kind of teasing that Godzilla has a bit more of a “fantastical” origin to him. Likening him to a living breathing curse. So… I’m curious how he’d further build that up in a sequel, or two.

Also, my theory is that he was once a peaceful dinosaur-god living on and around Odo Island, but became violent once Imperial Japan started expanding and invading other places, including Odo Island. Perhaps this can be explored in a prequel, Godzilla: Minus 2?

It was so awesome that they introduced this dino Goji as a jumpscare. Opening was so awesome and scary. I also like that this being a way of getting an original design for the movie that wasn't just a modified Ride Goji. And how he kinda resemble the Goji from that one cancelled American project from the 80s by Steve Miner, especially in the storyboard drawings. And to me personally, he also reminds me of Feraligatr from Pokémon. So basically, Odo Island Goji is a cool design.

Man I almost like parts of the pre-nuke Goji better as far as a design goes. Really loved the shape and proportions of the head especially the close-ups we got in the film, glad the figure turned out as good as it did!

Knowing that the budget was so low, I'm wondering if that factored into using 'The Ride' Godzilla design as a base and that's why there's a slight disconnect between the two?

Interesting to see Minus One Godzillasarus be made into a figure. I manage to watch Minus One a couple of weeks ago and I love it. Definitely one of my favorite Godzilla movies ever made despite some things I didn't like. I still like it regardless. Can't wait to see what other Godzilla things will come in the future aside from the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire movie that's coming.

I've never bought one of these things before, but I was so impressed by "creature Godzilla", the way he comes off like a rage crazed wrestler, that I thought it was time for me to buy one if they made one of pre radiation Godzilla. I'm glad I stumbled into your hilariously enthusiastic and detailed about the details review. What a way to bring back the Godzillasaurus! I remember when I saw the movie in theaters, i missed the first little bit and walked in on this mighty sea saurian slaughtering the soldiers. What a magnificent beast!! I was so happy to see the Godzillasaurus again. I'll definitely try to get this figurine if I can find it for a decent price.

Having seen the movie 6 times yeah there are open wounds across the Minusasaurus. I assumed they were weapon damage but they look in some cases like claw damage either from fighting another one or a another different monster

I've been avoiding this review out of sheer Jealousy, because it's easily my favourite from of him and I was not able to get it, but today I found a small import online retailer in the UK selling him for £34 and I folded and got it. Should be here in a few days, I can't wait. This guys appearance was the most terrifying godzilla had ever been. Usually I don't bother with Vinyls but the sheer amount of details really impressed me. Also, I'll be taking off the tag, I know yall will love that.

To be completely honest, they could have used this design throughout the entire movie, and I would have been giddy about it. I absolutely love this look for Godzilla, even more than his post radiation bath design. It's more primal and realistic looking. Can't wait to get this figure.

Wow, I legit never expected them to make a figure of this form. I’m not upset that they did though, because this is personally my favorite evolving Goji. This movie just went way harder than it needed to, but damn it paid off in the end. The story, the characters, the action, Godzilla himself being such a spectacle, yet the focus is on what he can do not on the creature itself. Amazing film, amazing designs. Can’t recommend enough, and I may grab this figure because I love everything about this Godzilla

Man it took so long to get it in stock here. I finally got it for around $15-20. Imma apologize to you, Rob. I kinda feel you oversell the damn thing in this review prior. But now that it is in my own hand, it's just THAT good of a vinyl. Probably the best I own. I'm surprised with how much the detail pop in person, it felt like a braille even. Usually with vinyls they kinda toned it down, a bit more smoothen and dulled. Even fellow MMS like Servum got less pronounced details. But this one, man this felt like those old Bandai America vinyls I owned as a kid. I remember how sharp and pronounced the texture on their Mothra and Gigan that I own was. Gerard Goji is one of my fav now

The name the Odo Island natives used for Godzilla, which is 呉爾羅, is based on kanji, which in turn is based on the Chinese script. The characters were chosen just for their sound only, because, as you have mentioned, you will only get gibberish when you machine-translate it either through Google Translate or DeepL. The more familiar Japanese word of Godzilla, which is ゴヂラ, is written in katakana
