X30? All the tech I didn't want.…… The smaller, less complex X20 with an OVF has the same sensor and lens. It better fits my needs. I was lucky to find one in stock a couple of months ago, snapped it up and have been well pleased.

Luis Leindecker The Olympus Stylus 1 was discontinued, and has since been replaced by the Stylus 1S. That being said, both the X30 and Stylus 1S would be great options for advanced point and shoots. Though, I would likely lean towards the X30. I find it to have slightly better overall image quality. The Olympus does have more range for its zoom lens, but the X30 is slightly brighter at the wider end of its range. I personally prefer the ergonomics and manual controls for the X30 as well. *Christina* [e-mail]

Hi! Which one would you recommend for a beginner for nature photography, Canon G16 or Fujifilm X30? I am beginner and I'm not sure, but I don't want to make a mistake. I feel like I would rather go with the Canon, but looks like the Fuji has some better features. Please help! :-)

I would recommend the Fuji X30. This will be noticeably better in lower light with less noise at higher ISO. You'll find the color, especially with the film simulation modes, more more pleasing and the lens sharper. *Andrea

Thank you for your answer! But I was comparing images on Flickr and noticed that that Canon is much better in low light with higher ISO (too much noice on the Fuji) and I'm not the only one who says so. The tilting screen and the EVF would be very handy though. I really don't know why I like the Canon G16 so much when I know that the Fuji X30 is a better choise. Thanks again! :-)

I am having an issue with my X30. Flash doesn't work in macro mode and I can not get out of macro. When I touch macro button it starts shooting video. I never set it up this way and it wasn't always like this. Anyone have any tips on how To correct this?

***** I am sorry that you are having issues with your X30. The first thing I would recommend doing (if possible) is to check to make sure you are in Macro mode ( not Super Macro mode ? as the flash will not fire in Super Macro mode). It sounds like you or someone using your camera may have set some custom functions to certain buttons on the camera. One thing I would recommend doing is resetting the camera back to original factory settings, and start over from there. If the problem still persists, then I would recommend that you contact Fuji directly and speak with their customer service agents about the issue. They will be better setup to troubleshoot the problem with you. - Yossi

Megapixels isn't everything, sensor size is more important, come on now, if your a true photographer you'd know that, but the sensor on this sucks as well so yeah no thanks.

If you are shooting for a billboard 16mp is enough. For other large print probably A3 or higher this is enough already.
