I like FAMU. The blend, execution, and arrangement was good. EVERY band doesn't have to "crank" or "scream" to be a considered a dope band which is cool. ASU definitely redeemed themselves after a debacle of a month with a few other bands. I did enjoy their "Love Train" arrangement. All in all, this was a pleasant battle.

Arranger for FAMU sounds like it's still Lindsey Sarjeant, the brother of deceased Ronald J. Sarjeant of SCSU. I love the arranging competition between the two brothers of FAMU and SCSU through the 80's and 90's. RIP Sarge... The 1 of the 101...

ASU got cranked on by FAMU. Couldn't even play the arrangements properly. Missing all them notes, trying to crank and the sound went no where 🤣🤣🤣

I liked both bands but I love FAMU they feed my soul. Also on the field I can watch FAMU perform all day. Good job to both bands though.

To me and my honest opinion Florida A&m always had a clean refined sound. Not too big on cranking but they definitely have a power that is felt if you actually at the game.

I love the Marching 100!!!! I love the sound, consistency, and they are a class act. When you are really good you don’t have to Brag, just be proud just do your thang.

No band anywhere compares to the 100's arrangements. (Big up Sarge). Balance is better than loud. Not knocking any band but no section in the 100 outshines any other. 1 thing that many may not like tho is that FAMU focuses on technique 1st. Everyone plays their parts perfectly.

I think coming from MEAC to SWAC, FAMU will find that potent mix of both sounds and be something lethal in two to three years! 💯

@@panamanianman1 FAMU has been battling the SWAC for over 50ty years, look back at the videos the library is thick on FAMU against programs like the Human-Junk-Box. Folk scared to watch atleast 40ty years of shows, the sound has always been consistent... Watch the Videos and stop that mess about coming to the WACK conference, that has gotten extremely OLD

@@jbabylove2 old School FAMU used to battle and sometimes crush Southern (this was before SU stepped up in both size and musicality though). FAMU will be just fine. I agree with KB though, you can still be FAMU and put more seasoning in those selections

It’s crazy how you all judge the bands based on the internet. You have to hear the bands live the internet doesn’t do FAMU justice. In real life they made Alabama State sound like a high school band. My favorite song that day was sink my ship in the zero qrt. FAMU don’t ever switch up your style to please these peons because in the end they still ain’t going to like it. Stay true to your style.

Famu Marching 100 has a bigger fan base than any other Swac band. If you think they will change to appease the Swac, you are smoking dope! Southern and JSU have good bands. We can give other bands credit, but the Swac hates on Famu with a passion. I get it though, they think their bands are better but Famu gets most of the notoriety around the world. Famu has their own style. Their fans don’t like the cranking style and arrangements that are totally different from the original song. But if you don’t have haters, you ain’t good. 😂😂😂 Keep hating, all haters are welcome!

Bro that's your opinion but FAMU hates on SU just as much, I mean when you announcer makes it a point to hate on SU for not attending the game. SU has just as many followers if not more than FAMU and that goes with notoriety around the worlds. There will be haters but the thing is FAMU people are quick to critizes a band's style or approach to play as if all bands should follow FAMU's style. It's like KB said enjoy the music just like singers have different approaches to songs the same could be same for bands.

What can I say about FAMU!! Great Band and I Love the Blending of their Sound and Dynamics!! However, they are lacking something "Excitement". They got the numbers, its like they are missing the Power and Swag!! I understand the tradition, but it's ok to innovate and add some spice to the mix!!! ASU had the better arrangement of 'Love Train" and Played it Way Better!!!. In Short FAMU should be killing these bands just based on numbers and musicianship alone!!! Their woodwind section is deep, Imagine if Southern and Jackson had a woodwind section that deep with what they already have, it would be a Super Band for sure!!!!

So what I’m getting from KB about FAMU is that he’s loving their sound now and their song selection with the balance and levels and crescendos and everything else. But they just need to mix it up a little more to make it their own instead of just keeping it almost exactly like the source. However, I will say that there was NOTHING they could’ve done to outplay ASU in Love Train. Their version is wayy too groovy and smooth to compete with. That shit was written to perfection

FAMU had been the same for decades. What KB was trying to say was that they don't have emotion in their arrangements. You can feel it. It's not about cranking, it's about music making you feel something. Yes, they sound good (they always do) but you don't FEEL when they play. They don't pull anything out of you like music is meant to do. It was proven on Love Train. Tell me y'all didn't groove more to ASU's arrangement. I need FAMU to SANG through their horns for once.

Always loved FAMU. As far back as I can remember they have been the same. Clean and crisp, but now providing the umph. I think they are starting to break their shell a bit though.

FAMU should get a deduction on "Leave Me Alone" for taking a part down that's supposed to go up, and Bama State should get a deduction on Knights by Nights for leaving out the runs. I kind of want to give FAMU round 2. I liked "I Want You" in round 3, but FAMU was kind of vanilla. I liked to see them a little more jazzy and funky. I'm still going FAMU for round 3. I just don't think Bama State sounded that good. Both bands got a little off-tempo in parts. I think FAMU could have played with a little more tempo in rounds 1 and 4. It's hard to pick a winner in round 4. I want to say FAMU was cleaner and the melody popped more, but I'm calling it a tie. Round 5 was close, but I didn't think Rags to Riches really sounded together. I got FAMU 4-0-1

FAMU prides themselves on shit like Tone Quality, Intonation, Balance, Being Clean, Phrasing and Playing Through The Bar and they do a good job at all of these things but they’re just NOT exciting at all. You don’t have to crank to be exciting. There are other ways to move people. Better arrangements and better song choices would help drastically. Everything they played was anticlimactic and bland. Rhythms sound square, and they do shit like put harmonies on parts that should be in unison. Ion know man. They need to shake back

He was extremely generous to Asu because that knight by Knight was the worst version I ever heard, it didn't even have the famous run!!! HOW DO YOU PLAY KNIGHT BY BNIGHT WITHOUT THAT RUN!!! It also didnt sound good at all!!! I think famu won this battle 3-2 but asu love train was fire🔥🔥🔥. I fell asleep listening to famu love train.

ASU needs more trumpets or, if they have the numbers, the trumpets need to come out because even in-person I could barely hear them. Band had an overall decent season and could’ve improved, but that means this is a learning year for them and they should work their way up. Keep pushing ASU (amazing bandsmanship from the students as well).
