All those who said the green bike is a Yamaha XJ650 are very close; it's an XJ650 rolling chassis with an XJ750 engine. I know this because it's my bike, which I've had for fifteen years. It came with that engine which fitted straight in as the 650 and 750 engines are very similar. There are various other mods to make the bike more practical and reliable, too, like the headlight which works well. You are not the first to be puzzled! 😊

The most amazing things on the day was, Allen Millyard, what a legend, after the hour on stage, they went off and he then came back in the lunch break and was there with a screwdriver fine tuning it, fired it up several more times and was happily answering questions about it, he could have just done his hour and been sitting in the VIP area eating his lunch but no he was back out tinkering, big respect to the man, plus I saw Guy arrive in a beaten up old green Toyota RAV4, there's no fame going to their heads that's for sure, they are all very genuine decent people Including Henry

Thanks for yet another great video. Boy the Norton sounded loud. I wouldn't like to pass judgement on Chinese bikes because I can remember when one of our mates brought a Suzuki Super 6 when we were riding our Brit bikes and we ridiculed him for buying it. Yes Kove are Chinese....not sure if they will take off here, typical case of the bikes being pretty capable but even at the ABR show they had no demo bikes and they said I can only ride one at my nearest dealer which is in Gloucester! I'm not so sure they are going to take off. BSA have done well in many areas but have let themselves and their loyal following down. If they are not careful they will not be able to get the hole they are in and will start a slippery slope. As Carol said and I agree, the trade in market has fallen on most bikes BUT BSAs again have burnt some bridges and they don't seem to be doing anything to pull it back. As I said in my review, I like the way they ride but everything pends on the distributer, and they are not doing enough at the moment in my opinion.

Bugger! I had intended to go to that. Anyway, you made it much better viewing, than I could have done and I just sat at home! Thanks for the mention of my old Royal Star. Regarding the Hesketh, I went to the launch of the V1000 and all I can remember about it was how bad it was. I'd either got a brand new GS1000 or GSX1100 at the time. In comparison, the engine was rough, the brakes were wooden and the gearbox nearly broke you ankle trying to change gear and it was too heavy. Can't think why it didn't sell? I do hope that very few people are suckered by these Chinese bikes. Looks are one thing, but quality, real performance and super reliability are so much more than just what you see. Look at the current problems hitting KTM? Yet another super video Rich, so thank you. You're getting quite good at this aren't you?
@Banditmanuk
@Banditmanuk 23 күн бұрын
@RichardASK Thanks Richard. We both would have preferred your Royal Star compared to the new BSA offerings. I think young Lord Hesketh had money to burn at least until he threw loads at F1. The GSX 1100 was a great engine, still is really. Wasn't the Bandit 1200 a similar engine, ultra reliable and would take a performance tune without exploding. The Chinese have a lot to prove in reliability and service back up. I won't be buying but I don't think we can dismiss them. Don't know about getting good Richard. @shaunpb599 I understand most viewers are here for Allen Millyard👍 I've met Henry away from his presenting persona, he's actually a decent guy. He's got Allen, Sam Lovegrove and his other mate Skid quite a bit of mainstream TV exposure.

Wow a Chinese bike looking like a BMW & producing 47HP, back to the future maybe? Think I'll pass on that one.

Nice video, shame about that mega bore Henry Cole being there.

Thanks but it saddens me that so many folks feel it necessary to voice a personal opinion on Henry. I've deleted some. Henry has done more than most to bring motorcycle content to mainstream TV Including bringing Allen his much deserved wider recognition. Anyway thanks for watching. Richard

I've always greatly enjoyed Henry's TV shows with Sam, Skid, Fuzz and Allen. Wonderful bike content and a good laugh. 😂

@@Banditmanuk Doesn't alter the fact that a lot of people can't stand him now , he used to be OK but he's turned into an idiot . Does Allen really want all the extra recognition though

Sadly without Henry's TV shows Sam, Skid and Alan would be unknowns and the Norton Nemesis would never have happened!

You may think that is sad mate but it isn't as sad as Cole's pathetic attempt at a cockny accent !

Hi. The DB is a little low on the recording but I guess the other 37,000 viewers rectified that by turning up the volume. Please bear in mind we were trying to record in an intermittently extremely noisy environment.
