The exporting feature does not work well at all that's the bummer for me. Unless they've fixed it in the past couple months.

I use cakewalk. However, in the past, I have created ideas in bandlab and exported them to cakewalk to flesh out. I would love a combination of both applications. That said, I pretty much live in cakewalk these days.

Hi and thank you for the comparison! I really like the idea generation feature of Bandlab. What I'm looking for is a comparison chart of Bandlab, the CbB, and Sonar. This would help me make a decision. The thing I don't like is that Sonar will require a paid subscription, and that will cost $150 annually. I can easily afford that, but I can afford it because I am absolutely militant about not having subscriptions all over the place. I guess I need to see how it's going to be worth it, especially since I also have Cubase, Logic, Live, and Luna. I'm on both Windows and Mac.
@XELOhh1Ай бұрын
@@justaskin8523 I would say if you feel comfortable with CBB then stick with it until you can't then decide if you want to move on or not ... There are not a lot of things added in the new Sonar so personally I would wait till they have something worth the subscription... Good luck ...😀🙏🏾

Hey doc, appreciate the video. In your opinion which one is better for mixing vocals to get closer to industry sound quality?

That would be Cakewalk due to you can use third party vst and FX to get the sound you want you don't have to rely on the stock FX... Hope this helps...😀🙏🏾

You mean Bandlab on phone? Isn't cakewalk owned by bandlab? Are you saying that recording on phone as an artist is better than through an audio interface with cakewalk? I'm new to the whole thing here, pardon me. 🙏🏽

@@Dele_Ps_Advice Don't worry. He's made it VERY confusing by not clarifying the options. You'd have to be quite familiar with the 3 options (Bandlab, Cakewalk by Bandlab, and Cakewalk Sonar) to follow this video.

@Dele_Ps_Advice no problem. Bandlab on the phone supports audio interfaces as well (or you can simply use the jack). Mobile phones also have active noise cancellation, so that helps remove background noise (that's very helpful for artists on a low budget). I made an EDM beat entirely on my phone in one hour on Bandlab so it's pretty powerful. XEL was primarily focusing on the online desktop version, which has more capabilities. But Bandlab is a solid daw for creating and recording

i started with cakewalk then went to bandlab. If you think about it they are one in the same. I think you are comparing them, when they are actually related and tied in to each other in a cool way. For example, the pro channel has that one eq, just throw another eq on it in bandlab. I like what they are doing.

I think they have potential to be bigger and greater but they don't seem to be in any hurry to get more people to use there products... Yea they are one in the same but not really... You didn't say that Cakewalk does have its own plug-ins ready to go. EQs, Compressors, Noise Gates etc. Most people download 3rd party because some of them don't look "fancy" but they have a lot and some stick to those because they were just fine.

Most people know this already but I get ya .. but Cakewalk doesn't have pitch correction or autotune built in ... Nor does it have a sampler or drum machine .. so if a basic app like bandlab has these things why can't Cakewalk...🤔

Sonar by a mile. But I should preface my opinion by saying I run a professional audio production studio with literally thousands of business client projects in my archives, all done in Cakewalk. I'm not a hobbyist, otherwise Bandlab would likely suffice. At last count, I have over 2600 third party plugins, all of which work very well in Sonar. And my typical project averages about 25 tracks. As already stated, I likely have far different needs than hobbyists do, or new ones who want to create music in an easy fashion. I get it. But for professional use, there's simply no comparison. Image also counts in the business world and the heritage and universal usability of Sonar far exceeds the Bandlab model. Thanks for the provocative video.

@@daveanthony3 yea you sound like me ... Lol. . I definitely understand bandlab is more of solo DAW not really a business DAW at all... If you run a studio you definitely need a DAW that you can mix and master and bandlab is not that... Are you using the new Sonar or the old SONAR?

@@XELOhh1 I use the current Cakewalk by Bandlab but also have the full Sonar Platinum on my machine as well. To Bandlab's credit, I haven't had the need to revert back to Platinum because the current one is backwards compatible with all my archived projects and I appreciate all the improvements they've made. Sadly, I'm getting disappointed after more than a year waiting on Cakewalk Sonar's full release for those of us who have stayed so loyal through the decades. Thanks for your note, I know you understand.

I'd debate you about the hobbyist/pro statement. I started using Twelve Tone Systems MIDI sequencer in the 80s that became Cakewalk. Then they added audio to it. I was sync'ing Cakewalk on my PC to my multitrack early 90s using a track striped with SMPTE. I use it in my 2nd pro studio to this day. I use Bandlab Cakewalk to record for an HBO docuseries last fall. It's not the tools, it's YOU who makes the magic.
