After watching ur videos I've been using bands on the smith for all the press movements and its made such a huge difference how I workout. Ur a legend ☝

Yeah I especially like how it adds more resistance on the eccentric part with the Smith machine. (which is otherwise pretty weak)

Love bands. For dynamic/speed work and also for overloading the shortened positions. One of the great coaches right here y’all.

That last minute is literally so useful to me. Def have made some mistakes in my banded presses. Going to switch to slightly lighter band. Despite doing forced reps at the end, I would prefer a lighter band now just because my rep speed is still slightly fast yet I’m failing at lockout. Ty for this 🙏🏾

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I watched the Part 1 vid and understanding how biomachanics work as an important role in building muscle. So saying the band role in helping maintain the tension while the position came across with small torque , which is very smart. Lets Imagine , say the body part start fatigue after few instense sets, but still wanna finish the target set . So the questions is , should take the band off to finish it ? or, reduce the weight but keep the band on because the biomechanics purposes ?

Heard about you from Lifting Explained channel, I think he had your app in one of his top 5 programs and ever since looking you up, you’ve become my new favorite resource for information on training. Thank you for all this content you’re putting out, I can already tell your channel is going to blow up soon man. No such thing as an overnight success, when you’re one of the leading figures in the fitness industry, we’ll know why 🤙🏽

Why is creating more torque at the top better for inducing a hypertrophy stimulus? Isn’t the whole point of the press to put a load on the muscle at the most stretched position, or position of greatest torque? If the rationale is having more constant tension on the muscle then why not just avoid locking out at the top? As you acclimate to pressing like this, are you sacrificing having more load on the muscle at the bottom so that you can still get the weight all the way up at the top? Again, I understand that this produces more torque at the top, but does this pressing method produce a significant difference in hypertrophy stimulation to justify the setup? I think you’re the best coach in the world at lift setups for hypertrophy, but this is the one thing I don’t see the benefit of, not to say I’m right, but I don’t feel this is justified. I know in previous videos you explained that several machines use cams that have warped radii to change the torque such that it matches the strength profile, but all those cams are used for rotational movements (like a machine preacher curl). Pressing is a straight down and up movement, and I believe the good thing about it is that it allows you to have MORE load at the stretched part of the ROM, just like how some people will load plate loaded rowing machines to have more torque where the back muscles are most stretched. Again, I think you’re the best, and so is Terrence. Don’t let the casuals get to you.

How do you add Bands in dumbbells??? I’m assuming the bands should be pulling the weight away from floor and the resistant should be at the bottom/ away from gravity.

Ok I need a reference point of where to put hands on bar. I still put my ring fingers on the smooth parts of the bar the two small smooth spots. But as you get bigger should your hands go wider.

Why would they? Your biomechanics don’t change in any meaningful way

For my n=1 this still doesn't make sense, as I have weak triceps and never struggled at the bottom of the press, vut often get stuck 2/3rds of the way up, so this will not make the exercise more efficient FOR ME.

I guess being a two dollar “guru” is all it takes to coach the Mr. Olympia runner up and Arnold classic champion? Go ahead and unsub. Better without the normies.
