Bands Whose First Albums Are Their Best (in my opinion)

I def agree with the BFMV and Static X pick. A couple of my picks would be Rage Against the Machine - Self Tilted Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory Suicide Silence - The Cleansing

I totally agree especially with Static X. Not metal at all but off the top of my head I'd say Interpol's first album 'Turn on the Bright Lights'. It had so much edge and experimental creativity, such a beautiful piece of art. I mean, the overlapped guitars, bass that does whatever it wants and aggressive angsty drums - with the perfect chefs kiss mixing and depressing vocal approach. Not a single song off that album doesn't hit you in the feels. Everything afterwards lost the edge and sounds very upbeat like something you'd hear on the radio

Interesting video. I agree with some of these choices. I’d say my choices are Led Zeppelin Debut Bush - Sixteen Stone Garbage Debut The Cranberries - Everybody Else Is Doing So Why Can’t We? Red - End of Silence (Kinda tied with I&I as my favorite nowadays) King Crimson - In The Court of the Crimson King

best doors album is An American Prayer idc it counts to me and it's transcendental, funny, frightening and tripping balls. Feels like I'm on a stoned roadtrip through the desert with Jim in the backseat guiding me.

Man I wish the bands I liked had their first albums be their best 😅 I like a band called La Kinky Beat, they’re obscure but really cool, I wish more people would listen to them. Their first album is definitely their most popular but imo is pretty meh, Made In Barna. Their second album was also super forgettable, with only one good song, Vaffanculo. However their third album, Karate Beat, took them in a more dub and jungle direction and is my second favorite album ever (after Manu Chao’s Clandestino, a killer solo debut btw). It’s just an amazing album overall and the song “Quiero Sentirme Iluminada” is my favorite song ever. Their fourth and last album, Massive Underground, was heavily dub and reggae focused and while not as good as Karate Beat was still really good. I also like a French band from the 80s and 90s called Mano Negra (who the previously mentioned Manu Chao was the lead singer of), whose first album Patchanka was alright but super 80s cheese. But their second album, Puta’s Fever, is a masterpiece. Third favorite album for sure. Their third and fourth albums, King Of Bongo and Casa Babylon were worthy successors too. The final band I’ll be rambling about is evanescence, which is a bit of a break from the other two but eh 😅. I fuckin love evanescence, and I think fallen is a pretty great album, but The Open Door is definitely better.

I listened to "the more things change" by far most time, of all machine head albums. I think the album is very good.
