THIS should be the model on How To Make an Instructional Video. There's no two-minute intro, no stupid music, no begging to 'like' the vid, etc. It's completely direct, to the point, and clearly explained. BRAVO!

This is the kind of YT video I love - no fancy graphics - intro is literally on paper, but teaches you solid, valuable skills you can use right away. Cheers mate well done~

Good tutorial IMO. It never ceases to amaze me that there are a bunch of know it alls that just have to make snarky comments. I'm a relative beginner and can always learn from how someone else does an easy job. Thanks James. Keep 'em coming.
@dwightstewart71816 жыл бұрын
Perhaps those "snarky" "know-it-alls" know a bit more than you, or this guy. Come on, he's using a felt tip maker to mark his lines. Did he mention that bandsaw blades come in various sizes, including ones for really tight curves? Don't judge a tutorial, or others trying to offer advice, until you're skilled enough to legitimately do so.

Is that a 1/4-inch wide bandsaw blade? They show 3/16-inch wide and 1/8-inch wide bandsaw blades for sale on the Internet. What is the horsepower of your bandsaw? I ask because it cuts the board easily. I am trying to determine if there is an under-powered bandsaw HP. size. Good video. Thank you.__ __A bandsaw seems better than a scroll-saw. Scroll-saw blades begin at 1/4-inch online. A scroll-saw has a rough, vibrating, motion of a jigsaw. Your band-saw is smooth and vibration free.

@SomeDudeOnline3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the wood you’re cutting through and how many relief cuts you’re willing to make. Thicker wood usually calls for bigger blades. Tighter turns usually call for smaller blades.

Liked and subbed. You appear to be the person who might be able to answer a question I have. I'm getting into wood carving. Besides the hand-tools, I've a 9" benchtop bandsaw. I need to be able to take a 2"x2"x12", and make two TRIANGULAR 12" lengths by cutting the length down the middle, through opposite corners. I've seen on YT folks using a table saw with its blade at an angle to make the necessary "V block" jig to cradle the 2"x2"x12" wood while being cut lengthwise by a bandsaw. However, I'n no access to a table saw. What are my options, please, to make the "V block" jig?
