Little late on the video, but I'm currently trying to decide if I want a larger band saw, or if I want pick up a table saw. I'm terrified of a table saw, and pretty comfortable with the band saw. I pretty much only do woodturning. Do you also have a table saw? If so, does it get as much use as the band saw?

I use my TS mostly as a work bench. I rarely use it for anything woodturning. Moving from a 14" cheap Delta BS with a riser and a 1 hp to an 18" Rikon 220v with 2.5HP put a smile on my face. I use my BS all of the time. A TS has its place but mostly flatwork which I do little of.

Lots of great tips in both 1 & 2 Mike. Do you mind if I ask where you order your blades from? I just ordered a couple from Highland but if there's somewhere cheaper by buying 5 at a time that would be great.

I get mine at Woodcraftbands.com. Essentially the same thickess, size and tpi as the Highland woodturners blades but at a substantial discount by buying 5. Check out their website. There are probably other sources for that type blade.

is everything the same as to blade criteria the same for dry(not green) wood

If you are speaking of turning large turning blanks, I would say yes. If you are talking about resawing dry boards for flat work, I am not a flatwork expert.
