Came here to learn which kind of saw I should by, and was mesmerized by the fight between your shirt and the camera. That's a pretty crazy effect!

I am still indecisive, not because you did not cover the differences excellently, but I have seen tutorials using both saws to make boxes. Does this just depend on how big I want the boxes?
@SawsHub3 жыл бұрын
If you're making boxes, go with a bandsaw.

Thank you your videos. Could a scroll saw cut plexiglass or pvc or would It just melt? Can scroll saw cut a shape from the center of a piece of material, or must it start at an edge? Same questions for band saw and jigsaw. What kind of maintenance do each of these require or replacement blades that sort of thing? Do you have favorite brands you’d like to recommend?
@SawsHub3 жыл бұрын
A variable speed scroll saw set to a very low speed could cut plexi and PVC. You have to drill a hole to start from the center. We have articles on our favorites at sawshub.com!

I have the Einhell scroll saw. I use it expressly to cut acrylic/plexiglass, old CDs and other recycled plastic. I find having the speed turned right up is best, but I guess that is up to the worker. Thinner plastics do not melt but the thicker stuff does. To remedy this you can cover it with painters tape or any other tape, not duct tape though that leaves residue.

I have tried looking on KZbin for videos that do angle some of us aint good at angle's . Ive decided to get center point and use a string i really suck at measurements .wondered if you had any trick. Every KZbin video has it the proper form but not angles for dummies.lol i seen behind you you had that wood with 2x4 and with angle and center 2x4 .
@SawsHub4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question, that's a good topic for a new video!
@SWTWHITEGSR4 жыл бұрын
Yes i figured you would be good at making a video .you're very detailed and another issue is making cuts i was making 80 degree cut with a 7 degree cut that crosses it.i used table saw but it was dangerous how i am doing cuts. This is being done on a 2x4. That's why i was debating on what saw to get .

Are these good for thin 0.5mm aluminium? I know woodworking and aluminium use similar tools as it isnt a very strong metal. Thanks
@chroma69474 жыл бұрын
Im talking about the scroll saw by the way
@SawsHub4 жыл бұрын
Wood is much less flexible than 0.5 mm aluminum. I would expect that aluminum would flex quite a bit. Given that, none of these solutions would be ideal on a surface that flexible. They would tend to crack and peel off.

And don't forget to wear EYE Protection and A mask, especially when processing Toxic materials like MDF. (Medium Density FibreBoard - toxic glue and tiny fibres). This should be your very first step when using power tools that can chip off material at high velocity. Also: Please don't think woods are neutral, always check the online Wood Database or Similar for safety info. These videos are GREAT but this 101 step is omitted.

How is your critique relevant? This isn’t an instructional video, it’s very clearly a simple comparison between two machines.
@SawsHub4 жыл бұрын
Agree with @Minty. Will's points are true, but this video isn't intended to show you how to use either of these tools (obviously). It is meant to help you pick which saw you need for which project. If you want, please make sure to watch our instructional How to videos for both the Bandsaw and Scroll Saw.
