Man, that opening shot must have been a brand new blade into relatively soft wood...I've never been able to cut a band saw box like that!

I make a ton of bandsaw boxes (shameless plug): I like to use a 3/16" blade with 4 TPI.

Great video! Have been trying to find a bandsaw that accept 3/16'' blades need to upgrade. I have a entry level Einhell band saw but don't seem to find a blade that 3/16'' for it .

Every time I cut out out the drawer, glue the kerf closed and try to insert the drawer, it won't fit, and I have to do a ton of sanding. Is there a way to prevent this?

Do you need a carter stabilizer when using the 1/8" blade?
@MSRWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
They work amazingly well. If you noticed how much movement he had when entering the wood, the Carter prevents that and makes the small blades so much more stable, also I think his thrust bearing was to far back. So the answer to your question is, no you don’t need one but they are really nice to have.

Another great video and very helpful. I regularly use a 1/8" blade for my bandsaw boxes and have the Carter Stabilizer as a guide. What I would really like to get is even smaller width blades 1/16" or even 2mm, but here in the UK it seems to be a problem. Do you know of any manufacturers that make the smaller width blades that ship to the UK please. Keep up the excellent video's. Malcolm

Thanks for the comment. As far as 1/16" blade, unfortunately I've not come across blades that small, so I'm unable to recommend a source for you.
