If I remember correctly the DS port followed the tv episode release not necessarily the PS3 campaign's. IE "Ambush" was one of the first episodes of season 1

To try to clean up some confusion from the level order in this version, these levels seem to be given in the same order as the TV show's production order. I don’t know why they left out the final Grievous stage, seeing as that takes place immediately after the Geonosis episodes, but overall that’s would appear to be the justification for why Grievous gets a huge amount of levels early game before widely disappearing.

18:20 So I pulled out my NDS copy of the game to check what the manual had to say on this topic, and all it says about the top face button is "Hold to activate target reticule (Ground Levels)", and in this version, pressing it while playing as a Jedi seems to have no effect. So I'd assume the intention in the 3DS / PSP version is just for it to be some sort of flourish or taunt?

The only other instance of light-side-exclusive force interactions that I can think of comes from Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The prologue level has you fights Palpatine to simulate the end of Return of the Jedi, and at one point gives you a choice of two mini ships to build, which you can then use the force on as either Luke or Vader to have it attack Palps. The X-Wing option, also shown with a green particle effect rather than standard blue, was light-side only.

3:17 some files in the pc version of lsw2 actually confirm the lsw1 content was already planned to be there, long before the complete saga was even thought of (tcs's lsw1 characters and levels are actually from those lsw2 engine porting attempts and have the same errors that they had there, which is why playing the prequel levels on tcs can feel off sometimes) my speculation is that the lsw1 levels and challenge mode were supposed to be on the console version too but they didn't have enough time so they put it aside and reused it for the psp version

I never played this version, as my parents finally decided to let me have a console and play the main version, but I gotta say this looks pretty neat. I especially find the inclusion of the Galactic Marine very interesting, as that is a figure people have been wanting officially for a long time. 19:56 This inconsistency is also present on the box art. The Grievous there is the classic 2005 version, but an updated one had been released and was used in the final game.

i love how they had an actual unique kashyyk scout trooper figure in 2005, yet in-game they decided to tint an imperial scout mint green and call it a day
@BaneShake9 күн бұрын
I agree, it's genuinely quite amusing. The 2005 Kashyyyk Scout trooper is one of my favorite "old" Lego Star Wars minifigures, and is currently looking down at me from my minifigure display rack as I type this. I'd wager some overworked developer took one look at the Imperial Scout trooper file already in existence on their computer and decided no one in any position of power would notice before swapping the color.
@EmmetDaMarbleLol9 күн бұрын
@BaneShake its even funnier when you consider all the custom designs they made just for this game like the stealth trooper and galactic marine, neither of those guys have appeared in a official lego set yet they made completely unique designs for the game, but cheaped out on the kashyyk scout for seemingly no reason

I had this as a kid for the DS and I loved it, and some months ago I wanted to show some friends of mine this game, got the psp version on retroarch and I was disappointed by the hubworld, so I got the DS version running and fell in love again with the hub there, truly a highlight of the DS port, from what I had seen in your video there are some small changes to the camera angles in some levels but I think that’s it, so playing the DS version for comparison would be a waste of time, but a very fun sidenote, I discovered when I played the console version, that the cutscenes have a slightly different audio for some of the mumbling or the soundeffects, at least the DS port, because I have only really played that But amazing work on the video, it’s really fun to watch and to relive my childhood, also I feel the anxiety, got one myself, but Lego games fun, no anxiety in Lego games, Lego games good :3

I actually prefer the DS port over the console. My only gripe about the DS version is that it should've had more levels than just ending it at the Legacy Of Terror. And it should've had a Villain Hunt like with Lego Batman's handheld port and it could unlock characters like Darth Maul or a character that's not in the console like Kyle Katarn or Grand Admiral Thrawn. But I do enjoy the fact that the game doesn't have those battle levels or bad Force controls. It's ironic how getting rid of those features could've fixed Lego Star Wars 3 when those features were supposed to make the game unique.

I remember 100%-ing the 3DS port, or at least getting close. The newest system I had around late 2017 was the NN3DSXL, and games were generally cheaper for me since I went to consignment sales frequently with my family. I remember picking it back up maybe a year or so ago just to see if what I played in the years before college and high school was any good. Well, for someone who isn't very much into RTS mechanics, I was fine with those being omitted in the portable version. Despite having the Wii version (yes, we had a lot of the classic Lego games on there, good memories), I always played the 3DS version more due to it being... more simplistic. Also, dealing with the likes of console vehicle levels was always boring with their on-rails (sometimes) but luckily, the portables impressed me with their fully rendered 3D environments and more freedom in a somewhat limited area! I'll finish the console/PC port one day, but for the time, the 3DS scratched that itch.
