ATTENTION IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Born and raised in Brooklyn in that same era and a lot what he said is true. I myself thought certain people and actions we did was keeping it real and how life supposed to be. Aa Smurf stated he grew up without a father. The rootvof this is that we have been mislead to believe violence against each other, drugs, crime is "Keeping it Real". My young people this is not keeping it real. This life will lead you in prison or death. They tell the story and those that were lucky escaped but most will not. We don't want our own sons to do the same so be deeply involved in their life and stop spreading this propaganda that this is keeping it real. Raising family, buying a home, achieving a career, vacations, kids getting good grades, etc. That is the true definition of keeping it real.
