Another great review Sam. I was wanting to buy the game until I heard about the dice. What a shame they are printed on symbols. I think that will be a downfall for sales. I don't understand companies doing that. They know engraved dice are necessary now a days. Oh well, their loss. Remember the first printing of King of Tokyo, it had printed dice, then they woke up and the 2nd printing came with engraved dice. Anyway, glad to see you doing reviews, your explanations are spot on. Keep it real buddy.

Abraham was left out in the character powers segment. He starts with 8 life and has the ability to re-roll Infection. (I was looking for differences from the original game and realized Black Jack was missing.)

Thanks Sam! Getting Bang! The Dice Game for the school game club and was deciding which to go with first. May end up with both for variety if the game is a hit, but we'll start with the original version first. This was helpful!! Cheers.

I don't remember how exactly the original played (saw only the live play on DT), but does it also has characters with special abilities? If not, this may be another differentiator from the original. Though i wonder if special abilities have any thematic flavor (why one character won't get hurt by grenades, or shoot better?), but i haven't read the comic or seen the show :) Btw, congrats on starting your own reviews (though i have seen your solo preview of Commissioned first)! Keep it real ;)

I think the Walking Dead version would be slightly easier to teach as it uses terminology familiar to any video gamers (health pack and grenade) but the hidden roles would be harder to explain

I'd like to also add that the mechanics (sheriff, renagade and so on..) don't seem to fit this version as well as the original. The hidden roles doesn't even make too much sense - it does only to some degree - definitely not well fitted as the original.

I like the property it's using but whats the point if you can't get expansions? Maswell get the original so I can expand eventually.

When you roll the 1's and 2's, do you have to damage people, or can you choose not to? Great review btw. Nice and thorough!

You must damage the player (s) if you rolls 1s or 2s

Pretty sure they don't call the Jesus character Heysuse in the comic. It's just Jesus. There are some references in the comics that suggest this is the case.

Jesus is actually pronounced Jesus as in Jesus Christ and not in the way you did. it was actually brought up in the comics and the guy doesn't really like it but everyone at the hilltop calls him that

It's exactly the same as Bang. I was kinda hoping the characters in this version would have different abilities to those in the original Bang:TDG, but it's exactly the same (For example, Rosita is Paul Regret, Jesus is Jourdonnais) Kinda disappointed, since this is high up on the demand list by the kids at my library.

I liked the final thoughts part, but man, it takes ages to get to them! I would be happy to watch the whole review that is so long for a medium/heavy game but it's Bang! The Dice Game!

You never really rated it or said how you liked it. Seems like you like original better if only for the better dice and slightly better cards. I'd like to see a little more more Sam personality in your reviews instead of just the plain facts.

While this is good for TWD fans, it’s a reskin of the original Bang The Dice Game, and for that I don’t think it’s worth over the original.
