Best demo of this pedal by a long shot. If they weren’t out of business, they should have gave you the rest of their money.

Great, thorough demo! Best one I have seen yet. I have had this for a couple of weeks, and once you get the hang of it, which doesn't take long, it is super easy. And it really sounds great. Great practice tool, and I have brought it to one open mic as well, worked great live. It allows you to do the 2-on-the-2 "surf beat" easily, just by strumming it or programming it with the pads, which some of the other simple drum pedals have either disregarded or provided somewhat deep in the options.

Today I ran first time my SDRUM on rehearsal. Vocalist comes with a new song. One moment guys - dsh----da-dsh dsh-da. Stomp. Here you go. Done. That simple. Now we are playing with pretty descend drums. Love it. Thanks for detailed video. This thing actually has even more deeps into it.

Particularly good demo of the SDRUM which I have it. The only thing I regret is that there is no way to set a precise bpm and this creates some problems on loading a song in a DAW; otherwise, this pedal is so useful.

yeah,..this has been out awhile and may not be for everyone but i’m here to say that it IS worth the money! Note that it does just what the video illustrates and...do know that if you build a specific Midi plug,..it CAN be synced to whatever you’ve got or using with Midi!!....But,..that will be only “Start & Stop” commandment!..☝🏾👌🏾🎶✨ The schematic for the plug is online...(i’ve got a photo but can’t upload it here)..🤔

Thought dude could have slowed his roll and operated a bit slower in his explanations: plus, that drum pattern was nowhere. Take 10 seconds and program something realistic so we can see how the pedal might transistion to another plausible drum pattee

I appreciate some of the details you demonstrated, going deeper on the controls, etc. than some of the other videos I watched. One nitpik: I was looking to see what it comes with (i.e. does the power supply come with it?) I would have seen that if you actually UNBOXED it on video like your title suggests} - please don't describe video with "UNBOXING" when you mean "right out of the box".Thanks again for the review!

Wonder how it compares to the BeatBuddy and the Trio+ I do have a RC-300 looper I run into going to a mackie and then to JBL powered speakers. Beatbuddy seem to let you load in more beats aswell from software and the net.
@alphasxsignal7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info about the SDRUM
@PlasmaTrout7 жыл бұрын
I haven't had the chance to use a Trio yet, but I did use a BeatBuddy for a while. The BeatBuddy has more precise control over the programming, but you have to use MIDI files and a utility on your PC to program it. Because of that, you can use the user libraries people have made already which saves a ton of time on popular songs. The SDRUM is basically programmed by showing it the bass and snare pattern you want by playing it, and it learns the rest. This makes those improv moments easier and saves a ridiculous amount of time programming which I what I prefer.

The drums and snares don't seem to sound as real on the SDRUM
@45zapatero7 жыл бұрын
Maybe it is also useful to know that you can sync this pedal with a digitech looper
@kingstumble5 жыл бұрын
My biggest gripe with the Beatbuddy is the crash cymbal. Much too loud compared with the rest of the kit and the decay is too short. Sounds more like a splash to me. I haven't tried an Sdrum yet but from the demos I have heard it has a more balanced sound.
@swamplifecontrol6 жыл бұрын
Is there any way to leave it in audition mode and still monitor the guitar ? That way you could play kick and snare in real time, and most of the time (?) it would continue to analyse the correct frequency triggers wherever you're playing on the neck.

Can you join this with a looper to build a full song with the sdrum in command of the section changes between verse, chorus and bridge in sync with the looper?
@JuicyLeek3 жыл бұрын
It either has to be a Digitech Jamsync capable looper, or the auto drum syncing Ditto Jam. Otherwise your loop will slowly go out of sync with the drums.

Can the SDRUM be used with other makes’ loopers, such as Boomerang, or TC Electronic, or would I need to go with Digitech?
@ryanenglish84943 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure its limited to digitech pedals and not all of them have it but I've found that the jamman solo and the jamman express are probably the best ones to use with it, I've personally gone for the jamman express, hope this helps
@JuicyLeek3 жыл бұрын
The Ditto Jam X2 looper listens and syncs itself to a drum beat, and it works quite well with the SDRUM. The SDRUM doesn’t do MIDI tempo syncing with other loopers because some executive apparently thought it was a smart idea to make their tempo sync proprietary.

Does the guitar audition mode work with a 12 string? Also, if you are in audition mode and strumming, does the drum pattern slow down and speed up in sync with your playing style?
@JuicyLeek3 жыл бұрын
It should; it just samples the sound you throw at it. No it doesn’t slow down like that.
@kingrobert1st3 жыл бұрын
@@JuicyLeek Thanks. I just got one cheap, but I don't have an amp yet. I didn't see a headphone output. Is that possible?
@JuicyLeek3 жыл бұрын
@@kingrobert1st I don’t think it can be used with headphones. I have mine connected to an A/V receiver. If you get an amp, you don’t want the SDRUM to be processed through it, since that will affect the drum sound. I have mine connected to the output of a Line 6 Pod Go guitar processor, which does have a headphones output. And that goes into powered speakers.

Why do people complain about little things they don't like. This is perfect for people who have a high degree of rythym who just need some drums to play over until they can get to a professional studio. It is good for playing live too. Some MFERS just have no rhythm and need to program every thing into a computer. I have one and it's great. The only issue is the damn button pressing.

@itsalwayssomething74904 жыл бұрын
Why would you decide on a product after watching one person do one demo that confused you? It's not really a tutorial, it's a demo. He's showing you what the pedal is capable of, not really so much how to use it in detail. There are plenty of other videos on it. I was interested in a drum pedal, I watched one video in which the person was complaining about it. Then I watched someone else that knew more about it and it convinced me the pedal was for me. I wanted to created drum patterns in real time, as opposed to through a midi on a computer. I think of a riff, I play the kick and snare pattern for it and I have a song. It's fairly easy, whereas this video is injecting a ton of information in a short amount of time. I can see how it's a turn off. But, I just got the pedal. After about 5 minutes, I was making beats and playing riffs over it. It's $139 dollars. To me, it's worth every penny.
