Bangka PumpBoat gets chopped off and Yamaha Outboard installed Part 5 LAUNCH TIME

It's time to launch this boat after modifying it from a internal one cylinder diesel not made for salt conditions to a yamaha enduro outboard on the rear.
We chopped off the tail of the boat and created a transom to hang it on securely. Now it is time to see how it performs.
We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. We hope you enjoy and join to be a apart of a bigger family here on this channel.

Install bamboo floors on both sides for moving around convenience and boat balance plus more space for extra cargo..to get to dry land, install bamboo rollers…

Boat is Awesome James worked out Perfectly! 👏😁 Build you two cradles with 4 bicycle wheels 2 on each V cradle one on each side. Put one cradle under the front one under the back and push it ashore then chock it and leave cradles Under it Until U get to the water then take them out and take them back home until U come back from your fishing or pleasure riding. 😉👍

Make sure to bring in that outboard at night I was at a resort in Bohol, who had their Yamaha outboard stolen from a little dinghy while tied up 100 yards off shore.

I would add a safety chain from the outboard to the boat. It slows down theft and stops the motor from going too deep in the water if it comes loose from the transom. Just Sayin

For the roof shade, buy 2 300 watt solar panels and get a 65 lbs trust 24 volt trolling motor, I have a set up where I can hook up the panel directly to the motor without a battery as long as the sun is out

Perfect motor bangka usually runs 14cc to 20+ cc . With 25 your good to go make sure you always have emergency paddles and life vest.

Wow! That’s the smoothest running Banka I’ve ever seen, only drawback is the outboard is a pain to carry around maybe you should device an outboard roller or carrier with fat wheels that’ll roll out on sandy beaches it’ll make carrying around the outboard easier I guess

You can put roofing 0r canopy on your banca … for rain or shine …You have extra battery for emergency lights or for pumping etc …Yes outboard motor is better… you’ll be a boat builder in the future …

Next time it starts running ruff try loosening the gas cap. It could be the fuel consumption is causing a vacuum. No vent fuel cap, or vent plugged. 👍👍

we did loosen the cap up when that happened in case the cap was not venting properly.

Locals already knew that outboard is not an Ideal motor for them. Can't flush the motor everytime after a fishing trip.....No need to educate them. If outboard cooling system can be localized it will be a better engine to use.

Might be an idea to have a couple of hooks made from flat steel ,attached to a length of rope ladder,make it easier to haul yourself in , if you stop for a swim somewhere. Great , well thought out( as usual!!) project!

Hi there, we use just 2 ballon wheels and a simply axle and just drive the bunka up onto it with motor tilted up a notch it then rolles with just 2 people up the beach in Mindanao no problem

Hi James , I watched your boat video today. Looks great, runs smoothly 👍. As far as the motor cutting out , make sure the water passages for cooling the motor are not obstructed. I fixed a friend's motor before and that was the problem. You should see a stream of water coming out of the upper rear area of the motor while running in the water. Make sure to flush the cooling system with fresh water . You can use a 55 gal. Barrel to start it up and flush it out and tune it up . Good luck 😃🤞

Simply make rollers out of bigger and thicker bamboo,,, cut those ones to 5 foot sections and place one under the front of the boat,,, then every three feet place the other bamboo rollers until you want the boat where you want it,,,, take care Texan!,,,,

Idea for rolling that in and out in our country, we have carpet rollers, almost like an elk hauler I like the shape of a bale hauling trailer with one axle in the middle. That will be your pivot point like a seesaw board.

James, I had the same issue with my 1997 mercury 40hp. I bought a carb rebuild kit and rebuilt the carb. It seems like that fixed the issue.

It reminds me the outboard motor installed in a bangka boats in the 60s , popular outboard motor is the Evenrude , Volvo penta , Johnson , outboard motor is only avaliable in 2 stroke during that time the price of gasoline went up so we start using a 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton, Wisconsin, Clinton, tecumseh, Kohler engines never heard a Japanese engine with the same size during that time .

Love it brother. When you get a chance, could you get s video of the Bangka doing a drive by from a distance. Would like to see how it sits in the water as it's travelling. Roughly about 100 metres out in the water travelling parallel to the beach. Would be great to see it with another bangka travelling in the same direction. Would love to see how effortlessly it overtakes it.
