It is more of a gray area. Some of the regular Thai women that frequent the Farang scene, have more than one Farang friend with benefits and a healthy WhatsApp list of contacts. There are no bar girls per se, they have full time jobs, but there is the expectation of some monetary reward, they have mouths to feed and children to send to private school. As you say, you might get the girl friend experience but any expectation of monogamous relationship has a high probability of disappointment.
