I am truly impressed that this land was not rezoned for condos and retail. I used to live in Bangkok and I never thought I'd see the day that a huge green space would be created in the city centre.
@jirawatliw1802 жыл бұрын
Well it was given the land from the former Thailand queen ,not the private own that why it can be the park for Bangkok people

Crown-owned land can be zoned for commercial use, as I'm sure you know,@@jirawatliw180. I'm still impressed.

@@jiminhart Indeed it really awesome for us Bangkoker to have a new greenzone, we already have ton of supermall already and this new part is definitely top pick zone for walker like some of us.

Hi Paddy, please visit “Putthamonton Park” on the border between Bangkok and the province of Nakhon Patom. It is next to Thaveewattana District, which is the western-most district of Bangkok. It’s a huge park (76.33 sq. km in total area) and is full of wildlife. It even has a “dog island” where strayed dogs are kept and taken care of. (In the past, some terrible people just took their dogs which they no longer wanted to the park and dumped them there. So the park administrators decided to use a piece of land surrounded by water within the park to keep and feed them.) It is a very interesting place to visit, especially if you like parks. It was established back in the 1940s and is probably the largest city park in the country.

@glennaa113 жыл бұрын
The Global Travel Mate channel did a nice job documenting the evolution of the park (highly recommended for Bangkok-centric content). It does look beautiful. I do wonder a bit about mosquito mitigation though. Hopefully there are enough insect and other predators to keep them under control.
@sylviasmith34183 жыл бұрын
Do they mitigate for mosquitos anywhere else in Bangkok? Husband says, all it has to do is flood in Bangkok, and fish will migrate there! 😀 I imagine a bunch of carp will one day live in that water, and one day we'll see locals fishing there, just like every puddle and pond in SE Asia! 💚🌊🧜♂️🐡🌏💙
