A couple of great videos. I sympathise with you and your loathing of shopping. I am coming to Thailand in mid-September for 4 weeks and I am sure I will be dragged around at least one shopping mall. In the UK ‘Cold Brew Coffee Guiness’ has hit the supermarket shelves. Watching the recent rugby union tests from the southern hemisphere that were on TV it was a good excuse for an 11am tipple. My friend and I convinced ourselves it was like a late breakfast drink!!

Many Asian countries have this old custom where one never steps on the threshold to a home, shrine, temple, palaces, or other places of importance. It's considered to be giving proper respects. Stepping on the threshold of a holy place is considered to be taboo and bringing bad luck.
