Stop-Look-Listen? Maybe in Western countries! But not in Thailand... Closing gates or a ringing bell is not actually a reason to clear the crossing at all.

As a Thai I can confirm that this is correct, we only stop when the train is near the crossing

Okay so since I have checked out this video after so long time, here's some information and details if you want to know. If you don't want to, just ignore. First train in this clip is the eastern line train from Chachoengsao Jct. to Bangkok (Hualamphong) station passing Ratchaprarop crossing under Airport Rail Link Ratchaprarop Station, which I need some clarification about what time does this footage was recorded. Second train is the ordinary train No. 211, Bangkok(Hualamphong) to Taphan hin, Pichit. Passing Uphaichetsaduthit crossing near Dusit Palace. Thai people are infamous of being reckless drivers. As you can see, motorcycle drivers are seem to be kind of hurry, and want to get out of this traffic area so bad without thinking of their own lives, so that's why motorcycles are the most cause of fatalities on the railway crossing. To make matters worse, the rural area outside of Bangkok has NO crossing lights at all, people illegally paved the road through railway tracks and just drive pass through, which is REALLY dangerous thing as it has no warnings at all, and train drivers can't see what's on the tracks clearly. Oh and another thing, Ratchaprarop crossing now has gates that are working properly, but the behavior of the people won't change either.

A crossing at Laksi north of the first one shown, was even scarier. Light and Bells would start, everyone ignores and drives onto tracks, and then stop on the tracks for Red traffic Light on road running parallel to train tracks. I have been a passenger more than once while stopped on the tracks with the lights and bells going. You can see the train tracks for a couple of kilometres and after a minute or so see a train approaching. Then the good part. When the bells stop (the lights still flash), the crossing is cleared of traffic and the crossing keeper came out and pushes the barrier across the road. The first couple of times I nearly browned my pants, but got used to how it worked later. A new crossing with barrier arms was installed about four years ago, making me feel a lot safer.

In the other part of the world: people and vehicles waiting for train to passing by. In Thailand: Train slows down or even stop and waiting for vehicles and people to crossing the rail way -.-

Please show how the *(o)T(o)* flash. Do the yellow rotating lights constantly operate to indicate a railway crossing? Chinese have a third blue *(o)* beneath the *(o)=(o)* to indicate that the signal system is functioning. It extinguishes when the red *(o)=(o)* operate. Among the light clutter, the blue *(o)* also stands out at night showing were crossings are.

Haha :-) people just drive around that wheeled fence and the police officer doesn't even care about it :) :) Here in Holland you get a 220 euro (288 USD) fine for crossing the tracks when the lights are on.
The people that pull out the gates I mean more jobs right
