There are cheap tethers that attach to your phone case and belt loop. If you take your phone when you are out you won't ever leave it behind and this MAY save it from being snatched from your hand.

Excellent tips. The safes in hotel rooms that I have seen are only small and not attached. Just sitting on a side board or bench. Even when locked. They can be picked up and carried away.

Thanks. I've never seen this. All the safes I have seen and used were bolted down. I would suggest not staying at a place that isn't securing the safe to the building (wall or floor).

Sir, when we are out of the hotel room, then we can keep our valuable things in a safety lockers which are provided in the room, that safety box is safe, safety lockers with key and safety lockers with digital password are safe , like we can keep our passport, important documents, or jewelry, some money, in the safety lockers box and go outside the hotel room,

I've never seen a safe here with a Key, only digital keypads. I've never had an issue and I haven't heard of anyone having an issue since 2018 when a couple was targeting guests and had the special knowledge needed to open them. Thai people are generally honest and take pride in the fact that Thailand is generally very safe. Most hotels have so many cameras that it's almost impossible for someone to enter your room without being recorded.

I have a unlocked cellphone and I get a sim card at the airport. I put my good cellphone in the safe. Maybe it's overkill but I lost a cellphone and it sucks

This might be a dumb question, but I've always been curious about the safe's in these hotels, can you actually be confident about leaving your room and leave your possession in them, I would guess that's a wait in see moment ?

Hey, Good question. I've only heard of one case where hotel staff were stealing from locked safes. she worked at the hotel and would let her BF in to open the safe and steal. I nor anyone I've ever known or met has had a problem with their safe. I watch Thai news daily and have not heard of an incident in the more than two years I've been here.

Do you not need to take your visa/passport out with you in case you are checked?

Hey, good question. There are certain things you need your passport for like getting a sim card or changing money. Other wise you can carry a copy of your passport and Visa. You always need to be able to identify yourself as all police also act as immigration officials when they choose to.

Securing your valuables before going out to party, drink and bring a stranger back to your place is not living in fear, it's insurance against the unlikely event a dude picks the wrong chick. Last time I checked we just called it being smart. You can go ahead and leave your cash and other valuables laying about and test the integrity of a stranger if you want.

That's a good question. Unfortunately there is no blanket response. It's a case by case situation. I've been with girls that loved to kiss, I've been with girls who lips were so tight it wasn't funny they,'d rather die than pucker up. On the topic of STDs there is always Oral Herpes to keep in mind. This is far less common than genital Herpes, but a lifetime commitment just the same should one contract it.

have you heard of Karaoke scams ? I've heard the bar sends all the girls they can muster up in, you think this great, but get charged PP and all the drinks they had. if you challenge it bouncers pummel you. I've heard a guy got whacked 4k usd.
