Bangladesh should ideally buy Eurofighter Typhoon. It's expensive but will keep their biggest customer (garment importer) - Europe happy. Also, it's a top quality 4.5 Gen fighter. Defence acquisitions work as a wonderful political tool.

Not a smart idea. Bangladesh because of its size of landmass and airspace, does not need long range twin engine fighter jets. Bangladesh should consider operational cost of each aircraft and go for just one kind of 4.5 generation light-medium multirole aircraft, purchase ~50 such jets and seek license manufacture for assembly etc in Bangladesh so that economies of scales is achieved while purchasing larger number of aircraft. Ideal western aircraft for Bangladesh would be Gripen. Training, logistics, spares, upgrades, operations would be cost-effective that way while possessing great deal of bite strength. Sweden is a relatively small economy and possesses less diplomatic clout for them to armtwist Bangladesh with threat of sanctions on defense equipment to make Bangladesh acquiesce to any of their whimsical demands for favor. Bangladesh in exchange can ask the swedes to make certain components of the Gripen aircraft in Bangladesh for export to other customers of the Gripen and this way Bangladesh will be able to foray into sophisticated defense manufacturing.

F16 block 50/52???? If bangladesh get f16 then it's definitely block 70/72. It doesn't make sense to get block 50/52 at this stage. Eurofighter is quite capable. The newest variant of the Eurofighter which was developed is very capable and even gives the Rafale a run for its money. The latest variant of the Eurofighter is something India should look into for MRFA. If Bangladesh wants it, might be smart to operate it in few numbers as they said they dont want any aircraft that India already operates.

An excellent analytical video. But let me clear some confusion. There is no clear evidence that BAF is not buying rafale as IAF operates rafale. These are just claims from some random youtubers. In fact we thought that BAF is going to order rafale as French president visited Bangladesh few months ago. The fact is that we don't know what is happening inside BAF. Now BAF are building indigenous training aircrafts and also aiming to build fighter aircrafts. So it can also be a reason of not purchasing foreign fighter aircrafts. And BAF pilots don't fly western origin aircrafts except grob trainers. So purchasing western origin fighters is a time consuming process. And we also don't take India as a potential threat. Some political groups in Bangladesh don't like India. And many Bangladeshi people was disappointed when some Indian experts opposed our submarine purchasing.
