A new addition to the B&O speaker family. And very wisely not called Louis as chosen elsewhere ;) A handsome bit of kit for sure. John, I LOVED the dance moves halfway through the video. We need to see more of these.

Beefington you fine specimen of a human being. The dance moves a rare treat indeed, I doubt you will be seeing them again soon. John

So the wall charger from the A2 is replaced by a type C to A cable? Is it just for charging or can you get sound through as well? Would be great when watching say a movie on your laptop to not have that bluetooth delay and charge with just one cable. Otherwise 3.5mm jack still there? Would be interesting to know what changed with the drivers but I guess I could wait for the official spec sheet. Thanks!

How does Beolit 17 vs p6?

I love your product comparison in the end of the video. Absolutely brilliant. Where would you put the Beoplay a9 compared to the Beolit 17? At the other end of the room or is it a smaller gap? (If John isn’t featured in the next video I’ll unsubscribe)
@BangOlufsenManchester6 жыл бұрын
Hi Frederik, yes A9 is the other end of the room, it's awesome! Don't worry I'm going nowhere, I wouldn't leave my lovely channel to anyone. John

I think you'll like it, an improvement on the A2 Active. I'll be interested to see your thoughts on it. You'll have to relocate to the UK, you can pop into my lovely shop and film your comparisons before anyone else and I can borrow your sweet microphones :-) John

where would you place the M5 on this favourites list?
@BangOlufsenManchester6 жыл бұрын
M5 is very close to BeoLit 17, almost on top of it. I couldn't say one is better than the other for sound, my opinion changes every time I listen to them. Best way to choose between them is the functionality, if you are looking to build a Multi-Room system at some point and don't mind a constant mains connection then M5 is a better choice, if you wan't something portable and don't care about Multi-Room and Google Cast then BeoLit 17 is a fine choice. Dear John, in regarding the BeoPlay P6 what kind of Drivers are inside, I heard this unit had 3 drivers such as a woofer & 2 Full Range Drivers, is that true? can you please reply back with me! :)
@BangOlufsenManchester6 жыл бұрын
It has 3 drivers, x2 1.5" full range and x1 4" woofer
@studlyv4866 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your prompt response, and one more thing are those drivers being powered by 3 separate Class D amplifiers or a single Class D amplifier being shared between the drivers? and are the TWO full range drivers on the front and the Woofer on the back side?
@BangOlufsenManchester6 жыл бұрын
There is a Class D amp for each driver, There is a a full range on each side and the bass on one side.

How does this compare with the beoplay S3?
@BangOlufsenManchester6 жыл бұрын
Good question. I have an S3 in my bedroom and love it. Probably not quite as deep bass from P6 but still very impressive. Plus you have the added bonus of a battery where as S3 is mains only. I wouldn't be upset to replace my S3 with a P6. John
@andrew1977uk6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I love my S3, although it goes to sleep way to quick! Then it has that annoying pause when it comes out of sleep mode. Also do you know how many bluetooth connections this can remember?
@BangOlufsenManchester6 жыл бұрын
I'll find out for you Andrew. On another note Google Home has been updated to play over Bluetooth to another speaker now and has UK Deezer Premium support. Now when I ask my Google Home Mini in the bedroom for music it defaults to the S3 without having to touch it or wake it up. It's brilliant. Makes the S3 even better.
@andrew1977uk6 жыл бұрын
Bang & Olufsen of Manchester I tried that with both my echo and google Home, but the response is partly muted due to the S3 waking up. Going forward it would be good to see google Assistant and Alexa inbuilt.

I love b&o but the problem is that bass are not precise at all
@GC2TEJJ6 жыл бұрын
Loudspeaker & more Hi. B&O have their own „inhouse-sound“, no speaker of B&O is clear „audiophile“, not the Beolab 90s too. Some critical listeners say the mids are little „nasal“ treble lit spiking, Bass is deep but the punch is not accurate. I also own a pair of Beolab 18s, not close to perfekt sound. But they sound living and enjoyable! Love them! The Bass Distortion of my P6 is almost gone, only some tracks still have some of it. The beoplay App setting „clear“ can optimize this tracks, with some bass reduction. „Clear“ give more sparkle to treble too. Beoplay A1 have dome tweeters, the P6 wider range drivers. Out of the box A1 more treble definition, sometimes too much. I believe in B&O that they can do the same optimization to the P6 they did with the A2 some years ago.

Why is it so expensive, I love b&o but I don’t get it?
@happymachi6 жыл бұрын
M4D anything b&o related is usually overpriced compared to other hifi equipment with similar/better specs. What you're paying extra for is the design, brand name, customer service and software support. However, the beoplay speakers are actually priced fairly competitively.

don't bet on the customer service! in shop it's good usually, aftersales and help online is just bad imo, same for software support depending on products.

Bo are very expensive but you didn't say nothing much about the bass. If i am going to spend that kind of money the bass have to be good. So what i am saying have the bo play p6 got good bass for the price i am paying.

A song I use to compare different speakers is Gold by Gabriel Rios. I played this song in the B&O store in Brussels a couple of months ago. I came back this week and the shop assistent told me he now uses the song all the time to demonstrate their products. Maybe you will like it too. Arnaud

I'll give it play in the shop. Thanks. John

I am led to believe that the P6 does not have aptx. It also doesn't have a passive radiator to improve the bass. And I understand no line in or auxiliary input. My A2 has all of this therefore I can use any bluetooth input format in the future if anything comes along better than aptx and DLNA. Plus anything else that comes along such as high quality streaming hardware. I use 2x A2 for stereo via line in and they sound quite amazing for a portable speaker. I also use Tidal with full master quality via line in as spotify is complete rubbish sound quality. Forgive me if I sound stupid but I would have thought the most important aspect of a speaker is its sound quality...and as ridiculous as it seems this hardly rates a mention in many review's. Who are they directing their reviews at? Half deaf granny's? I have an A9 and I use the line in for sound since it gives noticeable higher sound clarity and I don't carry it around with me thus wireless connection is less important. Bose for example has never had even aptx in their portable speakers making them landfill the minute you walk out the store with them. So why is the P6 heading down this street?

I'm torn between the beolit 17 and the P6, thing is the beolit 17 is £349 and the P6 is £219, £130 is a lot of difference, decisions.....

You sample sounds not "driven-in", still have the well known Beoplay-Bass Distortion. Give it some more hours of playback, check again. This time it is not hifi voodoo. The P6 needs 24h music!
@migk26866 жыл бұрын
Der Strudeltaucher do you mean the distortion will disappear after 24hs of music?

P6 bass deeper than competitors but sounds strange not natural (humping)
@russellparker45683 жыл бұрын
My p6 has all sorts of battery issues. Takes 6 to 7 hours to charge, drops 15% charge from 100% full in seconds with no music and last about half the claims. This is following all the recommendations from b&o. Quite poor

Why does bluetooth speakers sound so bad, both speakers here sound have a really inclosed sound. They sounds like plastic (or is it just because they are made in china?)
