Sylvie, look at how he snaps his shoulder a split second before the hand on the uppercut. That way he doesn't have to chamber his uppercut. You get snappy power like that and stay covered. This is very western boxing-ish. Thanks, these videos are my best.

The kick, I noticed he doesn’t rotate his foot, he just elevates the heel a second before making contact with the opponent torso. Kind of like when we lift something, and to get it over a shelf (let’s say) we lift object one more quick lift, if that makes sense.
