The mobsters are smarter then them, because the steel plate would have been added to underneath the car to be the most effective. Also this would keep the seat height the same instead of being 2in plus higher. This reminds me of the airplane test of shooting the window and it can blowout. They didn't include the factor of the fuselage heating up and the vacuum from traveling at 30k feet and 400 mph. In my opinion they need to do better research research

@dougshaw71285 ай бұрын
I have not seen the movie, but it’s possible that the car the myth is derived from is one that had an after market convertible top which would have a heavier floor pan put in when they did the conversion to stiffen the body after the roof was removed.

Question for the brains of the blasting cars. How much difference would it make if he was parked over a storm drain? The pressure would have another place to go rather than up and out. Part two? Was the steel plate mild steel or something closer to AR500? Thats like the difference between aluminum foil and aluminum plate.

Tony's concept with concrete would have had better results if he did not use "set" concrete. The density of a material is a huge variable on how impact affects it. Using dry/powdered concrete would have dispersed and obsorbed the impact MUCH more than set concrete.

Hang on, the battery from the charger would be charged via the 12v and yes the hv battery will recharge that, but at no point would charging your phone take so much power. I reckon its because the discharging wont be linear, and thats why it appeared to use so much power.

Every trip reduces battery per centage in the car and the voltage. Lipo batteries do not discharge linear. Unless every test was done at the same charge percentage each test result would have been inaccurate. The phone test should have been the tip off

Old school air conditioners would have definitely consumed much more... But nowadays we have cooler like mobile refrigerators that run on 45 watts versus 1000 Watts (when are they going to make that in a full size household model) and they've use that technology in automotive refrigeration
@colinofay72375 ай бұрын
I'm interested in that definitely, would that low watt model be able to cool a normal sized room? A house? Or would it not be able to do so, and that by being in a relatively sealed car, it only needs the low wattage

will AC decrease EV range? - yes as usually needs 3-5kW will heating decrease EV range? - even more (as usually this requires 5-7kW) will phone charging decrease EV range? - yes but almost unnoticeable as fast chargers have 30-40W and cars need easily approx 20kWh (20.000 Wh) /100km (60 miles) Why? because it requires energy to pump in or out heat but not so much energy to charge phone. In ICE is same story with difference of heating - as ICE is producing heat anyway so there is no extra energy required to warm up interior - engine need to be cooled down anyway.

Just as people often react with embarrassment when they see old photos of themselves with mullet hairstyles or MC Hammer pants, the youth of today will look back with similar feelings about their current trends. They meticulously shape their eyebrows as if using a ruler and adorn themselves with stylized tattoos that are meant to symbolize life experiences they will never have. They look fake contrived and inauthentic

*Spoilers * Just line in the original Mythbusters and the Mad Max myth they messed this up. Despite how its edited at the start of Casino when you get back to that part of the story it changes. He said it was amateur hour. The car catches fire on the inside with a small sparking woof. That gives him time to get out. He's not in the car when it explodes. They used to much explosives under the car not in the engine bay. As for Mad Max jumping through the trailer Camper destroyed the car and nearly killed the passenger. They said the car kept going. It clearly didn't. Please re-watch the movie before doing a myth.

Based on a real bombing. Frank Rosenthal was sitting in his car in Las Vegas on 4 Oct. 1982 when flames erupted suddenly inside his car. He was badly burned but managed to force his way out of the car just before a massive explosion blew the car several feet into the air. The rear half of the car was unrecognizable.
