My friends and I toured Egypt in early 2011; during this tour I had realized a long life dream I had since childhood mesmerized by the glossy photos from my grandfather's encyclopedia. The visit did not disappoint but went onto confirm my love for Ancient Egypt, which was topped up by the charm and warmth of its people. I loved this series and I love Egypt!

I did this trip while serving with UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon 1993. Me and a friend made the trip in green army uniform. Cairo to Aswan. Trains and floating luxury hotel. Head of UN was an man from Egypt at the time so we were treated as kings, all Egyptians our friends. All museums for free, super bargain on boats, trains, planes and hotel. Happy memories to see this.

Ohhh, but the tingling feeling you get when you step into the soil, touch the temples that have adorned not only those for whom they were intended but the ones that come & gone since ... you feel 'history' passing through you.
