Ben, I checked out a lot of videos before stumbling onto your channel. Man, you sure have the best patience, clear explanations and great closeups of your picking...traits of a great teacher. Makes it rewarding to get through one of your videos and being able to follow some of your basic rolls. To top it off, you are always positive and instill confidence in newbies like myself. i am 63 y.o. and play a very progressive rock funk jazz bass and love the sound of a screaming banjo. the kind you hear when you see bonnie and clyde being chased down some country road in the movies. so i went out and bought a banjo. the difference between a bass and a banjo is worlds apart. i thought maybe i waited to late in life to learn,,, it was mind numbing. quickly becoming depressed i put it down for weeks and on craigslist for sale. i just kept looking at it. If i love things i usually want to master them. i thought i will give it one more try and caught your videos. first one that i was able to play along with. great progression in the teaching style. you have renewed my faith in being able to learn the banjo and i thank you greatly.
